Comunicato stampa
On Wednesday 16th May from 18.30 hrs, 6° Senso Art Gallery presents “Oltre La Paura” – “Beyond Fear” an exhibition of un-seen works by the Swiss artist Raffaello Ossola.“Technique alone is not enough, it’s necessary to personalise. Raffaello Ossola’s painting could be defined as fantastic symbolism or dream-related surrealism but this would be inadequate and limiting in defining the works of this authentic master who represents the unrepresentable and proceeds by symbols. His works combine the ability to construct courageous architecture suspended in mid-air, to render colour, marble veins and landscape details with extreme naturalness and above all, render the vision of a non-existent dimension which is difficult to imagine using reality of rational thought”. (Giancarlo Bonomo) During the inauguration, the book of the same title “Oltre la Paura” will be presented for the first time in Italy. It traces the artistic life of Raffaello Ossola in a thematic-conceptual itinerary, rhythmically accompanied by passionate conversations of the critic and curator of the exhibition Giancarlo Bonomo who will be present at the event. The editorial project is made even more precious by the cover design using the lenticulare 3D system which will be presented by Mario Marseca, expert in communications. An evening rich in surprises and emotions which leads the public on a journey in search of sense and reflection.
Raffaello Ossola was born in Locarno, Switzerland in 1954. He studied for his Diploma at the Locarno Art College. Initially he carried out in-depth figure studies, then his pictorial research reached an informal genre and in 1978 he held his first public exhibition at the ‘Design Centre Gallery’ in Lugano, obtaining ample consensus. In 1990 he moved to Como where he still lives and where the turning point of his career led to self expression in an artistic production which, contrary to the previous period, proposes his own special extra: nature and introspection in order to eliminate the obvious patinas and push on further to reach the essence. Memories, distant recollections both past and future entwined in dreams, visions and journeys. The author likes to define his canvasses ‘Timeless Images’. At the end of the 90’s the response of the public and operators in the field becomes more intense. His works are appreciated by collectors world wide and various Personal exhibitions have been held in Italy and abroad, both in public and private venues. His travels have taken him several times to Greece, the Middle East, France, England and Denmark. He loves to live in contact with nature in almost a shamanic symbiosis with cosmic energy.
