108, con il passare del tempo, comincia un viaggio introspettivo e oscuro che condiziona notevolmente i suoi lavori. Distaccandosi violentemente dal filone “pop”, indaga la forma pura, carica di significato simbolico.

108 sono le tentazioni materiali da superare per raggiungere il Nirvana, secondo buddhisti e induisti i mantra sarebbero da ripetere 108 volte, di 108° è l’angolo del pentagono, uno degli angoli più importanti che com¬pongono la sezione aurea. 108 è anche un numero affascinante per Guido Bisagni (Alessandria, 1978) che lo ha scelto, da diverso tempo ormai, come suo pseudonimo. Que¬sta cifra intriga l’autore sia per i suoi connotati poetici ed esoterici che per il suo aspetto formale: riducendo all’osso il numero 108 appaiono infatti una riga e tre cerchi. Alla fine degli anni ‘90, seguendo artisti contemporanei come Stak, Guido Bisagni inizia una nuova ricerca personale diventando uno dei primi artisti del Post-graffitismo eu¬ropeo ad abbandonare il lettering per concentrarsi su questa misteriosa sequenza di cifre. L’artista è innovatore anche nell’uso della forma: i suoi primi lavori cono¬sciuti sono figure organiche astratte, di colore giallo, ritagliate da carta autocollante in maniera istintiva e compulsiva. In effetti, 108 ha conta-minato con almeno 3000 delle sue pellicole adesive diverse città tra cui Milano, Berlino, New York, Londra, Parigi e Oslo, influenzando con il suo stile un’intera generazione di street-artists. 108, con il passare del tempo, comincia un viaggio introspettivo e oscuro che condiziona notevolmente i suoi lavori. Questa ricerca lo porta ad allontanar¬si radicalmente da ogni rappresen-tazione del reale e del conosciuto, lasciandosi influenzare fortemente dall’arte primitiva, dall’antico sciamanesimo locale e dal carattere propi¬ziatorio delle incisioni rupestri. Eclettico e curioso, Guido Bisagni assorbe “a spugna” ogni suggestione visiva, apparentemente irrilevante, per poi rielaborarla e sviluppare opere uniche nel loro genere. Fra le sue fonti d’ispirazione cita “i sogni e il vino rosso piemontese, le macchie d’umidità, il muschio e la nebbia, le pietre, gli alberi, l’inverno con la sua neve, le scritture etrusche, le rune, le lumache, i gatti e tutto ciò che è incomprensibile”. Risultato: le sue tele e le sue enormi pitture murali raffiguranti sagome nere, si trasformano in secolari men¬hir densi di significato, in fantasmi del passato pronti ad interferire con il nostro presente, in ponti che partono dal suolo sul quale stiamo e finiscono nell’ignoto. Chiamato ad esporre in musei e gallerie private, 108 si cimenta inoltre in installazioni multimediali attraverso composizioni sonore. Nel 2004 è stato invitato a Parigi al Nusign 2.4, la prima grande mostra sul Post-graffitismo europeo, nel 2007 ha partecipato alla 52esima Biennale di Venezia nel quadro dell’esposi¬zione Walls curata dalla Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa e nel 2008 è stato invitato allo Scio Space di Los Angeles per la mostra Nomadaz. Ha realizzato inoltre delle installazioni ai festival di Zaragoza (2006 e 2007), di Wroclaw (2008), Katovice (2011), alla Triennale di Milano (2008), e dei wall painting al Fame Festival di Grot¬taglie, Zagabria, Katovice. Numerose sono anche le mostre collettive e personali in Italia e all’estero a cui ha partecipato. ego gallery si prepara all’arrivo dell’inverno, accogliendo un artista che in mezzo alla neve e alla nebbia ha trovato il suo equilibrio. L’esposizione Seventeen dens - diciassette tane – offre al pubblico l’opportunità d’intrufolarsi nell’in-consueto immaginario di 108, nel quale ciascuno potrà trovare riparo.

There are 108 earthly temptations one must overcome to achieve Nirvana; according to Buddhists and Hindus, mantras should be repeated 108 times; 108° is the angle of the Pentagon - one of the most important angles that comprise the golden ratio. 108 is also a fascinating number for Guido Bisagni (Alexandria, 1978) who has chosen this number as his pseudonym for quite some time now. This figure intrigues the creator both due to its poetic and esoteric connotations as well as for its formal appearance: stripping the number 108 down to the bone leaves us with only a line and three circles. At the end of the 90s, following contemporary artists such as Stak, Guido Bisagni began a new personal quest to become one of the first artists of the Post-European graffiti to leave lettering, so as to focus on this mysterious sequence of numbers.
The artist is also an innovator in the use of the shape: his first known works are yellow abstract organic shapes cut out from self-adhesive paper in an instinctive and compulsive manner. In fact, 108 has contaminated several cities, including Milan, Berlin, New York, London, Paris and Oslo with at least 3000 of his adhesive stickers, influencing a whole generation of street artists with his style. As time went by, 108 began a dark and introspective journey that heavily influenced his works. Violently breaking away from the “pop” trend, he explored pure form, full of symbolic meaning. This research led him to radically distance himself from any representation of the real and known, allowing himself to become strongly influenced by primitive art, by ancient local shamanism and by the propitiatory character of rock carvings. Eclectic and curious, Guido Bisagni absorbs any seemingly insignificant visual suggestions like a sponge, to then rework and develop them into unique works of art. Amongst his sources of inspiration he cites “the dreams and red wine of Piedmont, the stains of moisture, moss and fog, stones, trees, winter with its snow, Etruscan writings, runes, snails, cats and all that is incomprehensible”. The result: his canvases and his huge murals depicting black silhouettes are transformed into secular menhir full of meaning, into ghosts of the past ready to interfere with our pres-ent, into bridges which start from
the ground on which we stand and end somewhere in the unknown. Called on to exhibit in museums and private galleries, 108 also became deeply involved in multimedia installations through sound compositions. In 2004, he was invited to Nusign 2.4 in Paris, the first major exhibition on Post-European graffiti. In 2007, he participated in the 52nd Biennale di Venezia within the framework of the Walls exhibition curated by the Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa, and, in 2008, he was invited to Scio Space in Los Angeles for the Nomadaz exhibition. He has also created installations at festivals in Zaragoza (2006 and 2007), Wroclaw (2008), Katowice (2011), Triennale di Milano (2008), and wall paintings at Fame Festival in Grottaglie, Zagreb, Katowice. 108 has also participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions throughout Italy and abroad.
