Il 17 novembre 2012 Gagosian Gallery Roma inaugura una mostra di nuovi lavori di Rachel Feinstein. L'artista americana, nata in Arizona nel 1971 e da molti anni residente a New York, è nota per le sue sculture dall’animo barocco e fiabesco, come "The Snow Queen”, presentata nel 2011 presso la Lever House di New York ed ispirata alla favola di Hans Christian Andersen. A Roma Feinstein presenta un progetto site specific che si rifà alla tradizione scultorea ed architettonica classica, al panorama di Roma e al tema del viaggio.

Rachel Feinstein (Fort Defiance, Arizona, 1971) ha studiato presso la Columbia University, New York e la Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, Maine. Diverse le mostre personali dell’artista presentate in Europa e negli Stati Uniti dalla fine degli anni ‘90 ad oggi, tra le quali quelle presso la Marianne Boesky Gallery, New York, e più recentemente presso la Lever House, New York. Numerose le sue partecipazioni in mostre collettive. Nel 2013 il suo lavoro verrà presentato in un’importante mostra a Aix-en-Provence organizzata da Le Consortium.

Gagosian Gallery Rome is pleased to announce an exhibition of new works by Rachel Feinstein. Born in Arizona and a longtime resident of New York City, Feinstein is best known for her baroque, fantasy-inspired sculptures like the "The Snow Queen,” drawn from a Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale. For her exhibition in Rome, Feinstein will present a site specific project that addresses the traditions of sculpture and architecture, the landscapes of Rome, and the theme of travel.

Rachel Feinstein (Fort Defiance, Arizona, 1971) received her B.A. from Columbia University, New York, and attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Maine. Since the late ‘90s her work has been the subject of numerous solo exhibitions in the U.S. and internationally, including shows at Marianne Boesky Gallery, New York, and, more recently, at Lever House, New York. Feinstein has also participated in various group shows. In 2013 her work will be the subject of an important exhibition in Aix-en-Provence organized by Le Consortium.
