Marika Vicari – Wanderlust

Nell’ambito del progetto Wanderlust appositamente concepito e realizzato per la mostra veneziana, l’artista Marika Vicari presenta una serie di lavori inediti.

Nell’ambito del progetto Wanderlust appositamente concepito e realizzato per la mostra veneziana, dal 19 aprile al 12 maggio alla Galleria d'arte l'Occhio, l’artista Marika Vicari presenta una serie di lavori inediti.
Nel testo del catalogo Walkscapes appena edito, che sara presentato in occasione della mostra (prodotto dalla collaborazione e supporto con Galleria d'arte L'Occhio, Punto sull'Arte, Kro Art Contemporary, SPS Fine Art Consulting-3D Gallery, ART STAYS), Alessandra Redaelli cosi descrive il suo lavoro:

“ (...) Sotto l’incantesimo di una stagione perenne, a metà tra le brume autunnali e la prima neve, i boschi ci parlano con il ritmo cadenzato dei tronchi, quasi una partitura a scandire gli spazi del quadro. Il chiarore del cielo, nella parte alta, e quello della neve, in basso, avvolgono la scena in un nitore che la sottrae al tempo e alla contingenza, collocandola in un altrove perfetto, e al tempo stesso permettono al singolo dettaglio del tronco, del ramo, della piccola foglia residua, dello stelo d’erba, di uscire catturando totalmente l’attenzione dello sguardo.
E quelli che lo sguardo coglie sono grafismi di ineguagliabile eleganza, in bilico tra l’estetica orientale (così pulita, minimale e pervasa di suggestioni aniconiche) e quel saldo senso del vero che è profondamente mitteleuropeo. Un senso del vero, del tempo e della vita che scorre enfatizzato dalla scelta di materiali – il legno e la grafite – a loro volta vivi e mutevoli, respiranti, sensibili alla luce e di conseguenza capaci di regalare al lavoro una storia, un’evoluzione, impedendogli di congelarsi in una mortifera fissità.
Alternando in perfetti contrappunti armonici le inquadrature frontali, con l’orizzonte che taglia lo spazio in due, e quelle ribassate, dove la terra domina il quadro attirandoci tra le sue macchie di muschio e le sue ombre; equilibrando le zone più nettamente definite dal disegno con altre vaghe, vibranti, confuse dalla nebbia, Marika Vicari ci attrae sapientemente in un gioco di movimenti incessanti, lungo percorsi tortuosi, infiniti, pieni di sorprese. E se la figura umana risulta assente, non è solo perché si mantenga intatto l’incanto, ma proprio perché quei boschi sono lì per noi. Noi ne siamo gli abitanti. (...)”

As a part of Wanderlust project, realized especially for the Venice exhibition, from 19th April to 12th May in Gallery l’Occhio, the artist Marika Vicari presents her new, yet unseen works.
In the newest catalogue Walkscapes, that will be presented on occasion of the opening (realized by the collaboration and support of Galleria d'arte L'Occhio, Punto sull'Arte, Kro Art Contemporary, SPS Fine Art Consulting-3D Gallery, ART STAYS), Alessandra Redaelli writes about Vicari’s work:

(…) Under the spell of a perennial season, halfway between the autumn mists and the first snows, the woods now express the rhythm of the trunks as if it were a score that scans the spaces of the painting. The glow of the sky in the top part and the snow at the bottom wrap the scene in a brightness that cancels time and contingency, placing it in a perfect elsewhere and at the same time allowing every single detail of the trunk, the branch, the small lingering leaf, the stem of grass to come out, totally capturing the attention of the eye. And what the eye captures are the graphic elements of unparalleled elegance, poised between Oriental aesthetics (so clean, minimal and permeated with aniconic suggestions) and the solid sense of reality which is profoundly Central European. A sense of reality, of time and of life that flows emphasized by the choice of materials - wood and graphite – which in turn, being alive, mutable, respiring and sensitive to light is therefore able to give the work a story, an evolution, preventing it from freezing in a deathly stillness.
Alternating the frontal shots with perfect and harmonious counterpoints, the horizon that cuts the space into two, and those lowered, where the land dominates the picture enticing us into its patches of moss and shadows; balancing areas more clearly defined with others that are bleary, quivering, confounded by the fog, Marika Vicari skillfully draws us into a game of constant movement, along endless, winding paths, full of surprises.
And if the human figure is absent, it is not simply to maintain its charm intact, but because these woods are there for us. We are its inhabitants. (…)
