La seconda mostra ospitata da Choisi–one at a time è dedicata all’opera “Aleph” dell'artista svizzero Mirko Baselgia (1982, Lantsch/Lenz) dalla collezione di Artphilein Foundation, a cura di Larissa Galler.
“Aleph” è composta da due bastoni, con incise sulle estremità le lettere fenice Aleph e Beth, e un ferro incandescente, a forma esso stesso di Aleph, presentato per la prima volta al pubblico.
L'opera enuclea uno dei temi principali della ricerca artistica di Mirko Baselgia: la relazione uomo-animale e in particolare induce a una riflessione sul rapporto gerarchico e di dominio instaurato dall’uomo sull’ambiente nel corso dell’evoluzione.
Queste sono alcune delle suggestioni evocate dall'artista e affrontate da Caterina De Pietri (Direttrice, Artphilein Foundation), Jessica Savoia (Ricercatrice, Museo delle Culture di Lugano) e Markus Wild (Professore, Universität Basel), autori dei testi del catalogo pubblicato da Artphilein Editions SA in occasione della mostra.

Mirko Baselgia è nato nel 1982 a Lantsch/Lenz, vive e lavora nel Cantone dei Grigione. Tra le sue mostre personali si segnalano quelle presso il Kunstmuseum Olten (2014), il Bündner Kunstmuseum, Chur (2013) e il Museum für Gestaltung, Zurigo (2010). È vincitore del Manor Art Price Chur 2013, del Kiefer Hablitzel Grant 2012, del Willi Reber Foundation Promotion Price 2005 e del Promotion Price of Canton Grisons 2004.

The second exhibition presented at Choisi–one at a time is dedicated to “Aleph” by Swiss artist Mirko Baselgia (1982, Lantsch/Lenz), a work from the Artphilein Foundation collection, and is curated by Larissa Galler.
“Aleph” is composed of two sticks with the Phoenician letters Aleph e Beth carved into their ends, and an incandescent iron bar –presented to the public for the first time– which is also in the form of an Aleph. The work elucidates one of the main themes in the artist's research: the connection between man and animals, more specifically it induces reflection upon the hierarchical and dominant relationship that man has established with his environment throughout the evolutionary process.
These are some of the influences evoked by the artist and which are considered by Caterina De Pietri (Director, Artphilein Foundation), Jessica Savoia (Researcher, Museo delle Culture di Lugano) and Markus Wild (Professor, Universität Basel), the authors of the texts in the catalogue published by Artphilein Editions SA on the occasion of the exhibition.

Mirko Baselgia was born in 1982 in Lantsch/Lenz, he lives and works in the Canton Grisons. Among his solo shows: Kunstmuseum Olten (2014), Bündner Kunstmuseum, Chur (2013) and Museum für Gestaltung, Zurich (2010). He was awarded the Manor Art Prize Chur 2013, the Kiefer Hablitzel Grant 2012, the Willi Reber Foundation Promotion Prize 2005 and the Promotion Prize of Canton Grisons 2004.
