Spentriu – Pinacocytes

La mostra “Pinacocytes” si compone di due serie di opere che coniugano in maniera differente il tema del segno come tessuto epiteliale e quello della ripetizione, della variazione dei segni e dell’interazione che essi hanno sia tra di loro che con le forme e l’ambiente circostante.

I pinacociti sono cellule prismatiche appiattite che formano un tessuto esterno delle spugne marine. Contengono molti granuli in grado di contrarsi e sono responsabili del mantenimento della struttura della spugna: si espandono e si contraggono per cambiarne leggermente la forma.
La mostra “Pinacocytes” si compone di due serie di opere che coniugano in maniera differente il tema del segno come tessuto epiteliale e quello della ripetizione, della variazione dei segni e dell'interazione che essi hanno sia tra di loro che con le forme e l'ambiente circostante.
Una serie include dei lavori realizzati incidendo lastre di alluminio ricoperte di acrilico nero. Ciascuna matrice non viene riprodotta in una tiratura di esemplari su carta uguali tra loro ma si riproduce in una seconda matrice: le forme che ospita ed i segni da cui queste sono attraversate si trasferiscono nella matrice successiva e compiendo questo movimento si articolano diversamente dando vita ad una nuova composizione.

From the 23th of January till the 22 February, Nero Gallery will present its PINACOCYTES –SOLO SHOW

Πίναξ, πίνακος “Picture” κύτος, κύτους “cell”
Pinacocytes are prismatic flattened cells that form an epithelial layer on the external surface of a sponge. They contain many granules capable of contracting and are involved in the maintenance of the size and structure of sponges: they can expand and contract to slightly alter the size of the sponge.
The exhibition “Pinacocytes” consists of two series of art works that coniugate in a different way the same themes:
the “sign” intended as epithelial tissue, the repetition, the variation and the interaction of signs both between themselves and with the shapes, with the surrounding environment.
The first serie includes art works realized scratching aluminum plates covered with black acrylic.
Each matrix is not reproduced in an edition of several prints equal to each other but it reproduces itself in a second matrix: the shapes within the first matrix and the signs that cross these shapes move into the next matrix and by moving in this way they articulate themselves differently and give birth to a new composition.
