Un festival democratico aperto a tutti, una piattaforma d'informazione e approfondimento sul presente e una piazza internazionale.
Un festival che attiva gli spazi pubblici cittadini e raccoglie davanti agli schermi oltre 100.000 persone da tutto il mondo, in due settimane a settembre a Milano.
I luoghi
La programmazione del Milano Film Festival si articola in luoghi diversi, attiva gli spazi pubblici cittadini e raccoglie davanti agli schermi oltre 100.000 persone da tutto il mondo, in due settimane a Milano: Teatro Strehler, Teatro Studio Melato, Parco Sempione, Auditorium San Fedele, Spazio Oberdan e Cascina Cuccagna. Tra le nuove location il Barrio's, MIMAT e il Rivoli2.
Il programma
Il programma prevede il CONCORSO INTERNAZIONALE LUNGOMETRAGGI, aperto solo a opere prime e seconde di registi provenienti da ogni parte del mondo, tutte in anteprima italiana; il tradizionale CONCORSO INTERNAZIONALE CORTOMETRAGGI, riservato a registi under 40; COLPE DI STATO, la storica rassegna fuori concorso che indaga la realtà complessa del sistema di potere nel mondo; tutto affiancato da altre sezioni fuori concorso, film in anteprima, ospiti, workshop ed eventi paralleli.

The 20th edition of Milano Film Festival will be held this year from 1st to 20th September 2015

11 days and 11 nights of cinema, music, masterclasses, panles and guests from all over the word.
Since twenty years Milano Film Festival supports the independent cinema and Italian and international talents. A research involving both languages and contents, with a special attention to those productions which succeed in using new technologies and rethinking formats and genres. We explore the early cinema, but also the great masters of world cinema.
Places
Our festival takes place in public spaces throughout Milan. Every year over 100,000 people from the whole world sit in front of our screens watching films for about two weeks in September.
The Teatro Strehler with its Esplanade, the Teatro Studio Melato, the Parco Sempione, are some of the venue where the Festival will bring films and guests from all over the world.
Programme
The programme includes the Feature Film Competition, open only to first and second films by directors from all over the world, the traditional Short Film Competition, for directors under 40; out of competition focuses and sections, and State (T)error, which dwells on the complex reality of the system of power in the world, always attentive to experimentation in language and documentation of reality; furthermore, previews, guests, workshop, parties and events. In this 2015 edition, there will be a special section dedicated to the “Austrian Energies”, that will present some premieres: Nikolaus Geyrhalter: “Over the years”; Gerard Weber (curator): “Sixpackfilm”; Martin Reinhart, Thomas Tode and Nanu Luksch: “Dream Rewired”.
