La Galleria Varsi è lieta di invitarvi il 17 settembre 2015 all’opening di Santa Miseria, mostra personale del duo tedesco Herakut. Curata da Marta Gargiulo e Massimo Scrocca.

Santa Miseria è una raccolta dei pensieri e delle immagini che hanno contraddistinto, e resi unici, gli incontri con le diverse personalità che animano le numerose comunità incontrate durante la ricerca del duo, momenti di profonda condivisione e scambio.

Gli Herakut hanno girato il mondo e hanno avuto la capacità di farsi affidare dalle persone che hanno incontrato le loro storie.
Gli artisti si sono lasciati attraversare da tali narrazioni, rendendo possibile la magia che anima tutto il loro percorso creativo, dove ogni creatura trattiene lo sguardo e il respiro nel preciso istante in cui ha narrato il proprio vissuto agli artisti.

Questo momento di interazione dà oggi agli spettatori la possibilità di entrare in contatto con la forza di chi nella vita ha imparato ad andare avanti, a superare le difficoltà e a vivere ancora.

Santa Miseria mette in essere un percorso che fa luce proprio sulla capacità di resistere e andare avanti; le opere parlano attraverso le storie di chi ha superato realtà miserabili e ha trovato il coraggio di guardare oltre, essendo in grado di pensare a un nuovo futuro possibile.

Tale spessore sociale ha portato gli Herakut a essere conosciuti e apprezzati a livello internazionale; il loro sguardo spazia nelle dinamiche di attualità che investono il mondo, riflessioni socio-culturali che conducono l’osservatore verso uno spirito critico che spesso, oggi, rischiamo di sottovalutare, trovandoci catturati dalla frenesia del quotidiano.

Gli Herakut portano al pubblico la risposta positiva di chi ha saputo superare aspetti drammatici, e che alle brutture dell’esistere ha risposto con il desiderio di vivere; persone che non sono state vinte, ma hanno imparato con grande energia a vincere.

Santa Miseria is a collection of thoughts and images that have marked and made unique the artists’ encounters with different individuals and their communities met during moments of deep sharing and exchange.

Herakut have travelled the world and have been entrusted with many personal stories, which have penetrated the artists’ spirit, generating the magic that animates their entire creative process.

Each individual is portrayed with the exact gaze and breath of the instant in which they narrate their experiences to the artists.

This powerful moment of interaction gives viewers the chance to feel the strength of those who in life have learned to move on, to overcome their difficulties and to start living again.

Santa Miseria sheds light on the human ability to resist and go forward; the artworks speak through the stories of those who have overcome desolation and have found the courage to look beyond, and also to think about a new future.

Herakut’s social involvement has made them known and appreciated at the widest international level.

Their scrutiny extends to the dynamics of current events that affect the world: socio-cultural considerations which generate in the observer a much needed critical spirit that we often underestimate, caught as we all are in our daily frenzies.

Herakut testify the positive response of those who have been able to overcome dramatic events, and that have replied to the ugliness of their existence with a strong desire to live.

These people have not been won: with enormous strength they have learned to win.

BIOGRAFIA
Hera, Jasmin Siddiqui, nata nel 1981 a Francoforte, in Germania.
Ha studiato Comunicazione Visiva-Graphic Design presso l’Università di Scienze Applicate di Wiesbaden. Si è avvicinata alla scena dei graffiti nel 2000.

Akut, Falk Lehmann, nato nel 1977 a Schmalkalden, Germania.
Ha studiato Comunicazione Visiva-Graphic Design presso l’Università Bauhaus di Weimar. Si è avvicinato alla scena dei graffiti nel 1991.

Hera e Akut, hanno unito le loro forze creative nel 2004 e hanno iniziato a collaborare sotto il nome di Herakut.
I loro dipinti sono sensuali e selvaggi; tecnicamente è sempre notevole il loro dualismo creativo.
I dettagli fotorealistici di Akut giocano e si fondono con la più gestuale linea guida del tratto di Hera, in tele che sembrano sul punto di articolare storie di trionfo e di disagio, il tutto arricchito dalla presenza di testi che danno al fruitore il modo di entrare più velocemente nella narrazione.

Le loro opere sono presenti nelle grandi città di tutto il mondo, da Toronto a Kathmandu, da San Francisco a Melbourne. Oggi arrivano a Roma per la loro prima personale.
BIOGRAPHY
Hera, Jasmin Siddiqui, was born in 1981 in Frankfurt, Germany.
She studied Visual Communication-Graphic Design at the University of Applied Sciences in Wiesbaden. She entered the graffiti scene in 2000.

Akut, Falk Lehmann, was born in 1977 in Schmalkalden, Germany.
He studied Visual Communication-Graphic Design at the Bauhaus University in Weimar.
He entered the graffiti scene in 1991.

Hera and Akut, have joined their creative forces in 2004 when they started working together under the name Herakut.

Herakut’s paintings are sensual and wild; technically they offer an outstanding creative dualism.

Akut’s photorealistic details blend in with Hera’s more gestural strokes in canvases that articulate stories of triumph and discomfort.

All are enriched by the presence of texts, which allow viewers to immediately enter the narrative.

Their artworks are present in the major cities around the world, from Toronto to Kathmandu, from San Francisco to Melbourne. Today they arrive in Rome for their first solo exhibition in Italy.
