Elio Marchegiani – Perchè
Mostra personale
Comunicato stampa
Marchegiani expresses the incessant need to acquire new data from the reality in order to transform them in art experiences (…) his artworks consume the accepted rules and are instruments for a self questioning ”
Thursday April 21 (6.00 pm) at Primae Noctis Art Gallery Lugano opens the first solo show of Elio Marchegiani, one of the most brilliant artists in the contemporary art scene. The exhibition aims to be a 360° focus on the long and structured artist path, often desecrating and unpredictable, however always out of the rules and the usual. The show, conceived as it was a spelling box, goes through fifty years of his artistic research. A round-trip show, a creative twirl of an artist who has never stopped transgressing in the name of knowledge. This exhibition is also a chance to present the related book ‘perchè’, a Primo Marella Gallery project presenting more than fifty artworks of Elio Marchegiani, from 1959 to 2016, together with his thoughts. The volume, in Italian and English, is introduced by a critical essay by Alberto Fiz.
