Alessandro Di Pietro – New Void

La rada aprirà la prima esposizione all’estero del progetto New Void del giovane artista italiano Alessandro Di Pietro (Como, 1987).

Come già nel 2015, la rada (Locarno) in prossimità del Festival internazionale del film di Locarno espande temporaneamente la propria attività espositiva nello spazio posto allo stesso piano della centrale Swisscom, il Teatro dei Fauni, che ringraziamo caldamente e con cui nei fatti prosegue un'ottima sinergia e collaborazione.
Infatti nello spazio del Teatro dei Fauni venerdì 15 luglio alle ore 18 la rada aprirà la prima esposizione all'estero del progetto New Void del giovane artista italiano Alessandro Di Pietro (Como, 1987).
Partecipante all'esposizione Glitch – Interferenze tra arte e cinema, presso il PAC-Padiglione di arte contemporanea (Milano) nel 2014 e poi visto solo al CCC Strozzina (Firenze) nella selezione per il premio Visio, questo progetto è il risultato di un atto performativo di decostruzione processuale e concettuale del linguaggio cinematografico.
L’artista ha scelto d'impiegare - al posto della telecamera - uno scanner manuale applicato direttamente sullo schermo del suo computer. Il punto di partenza è il lungometraggio Enter the Void di Gaspar Noé (2009) da cui son state acquisite le immagini usate come materia prima. Si tratta di un'opera seminale nell'ambito del cinema sperimentale contemporaneo, ed il suo noto regista franco-argentino ha gradito l'esito di questo progetto di Alessandro Di Pietro.
Il suo processo di appropriazione, che parzialmente cancella i riferimenti estetici della sua fonte, crea i fotogrammi necessari per costruire la struttura narrativa del nuovo film. Il risultato è una raffinata e complessa operazione concettuale che genera un film ricco di riferimenti autobiografici e che crea un alter ego - nella figura del protagonista Rasco – di Oscar, il pusher protagonista di Enter the Void, il cui nome è evidentemente anagrammato.
Il film vede la collaborazione dell'artista Enrico Boccioletti per la colonna sonora originale ed il suono, e, per la sceneggiatura, di Ana Miranda Shametaj, della compagnia teatrale Kokoschka Revival.
Il vernissage sarà venerdì 15 luglio dalle ore 18, mentre il finissage avverrà in pieno festival, sabato 6 agosto, sempre dalle 18 e sarà seguito dalle ore 23 da un party alla rada in onore di Gaspar Noé ed Alessandro Di Pietro: una situazione che sarà arricchita da altre proiezioni e da concerti, su cui vi aggiorneremo più avanti. E' importante segnalare che fino al 25 luglio è possibile anche visitare alla rada la sorprendente esposizione 1795: Kilo | 1960: Giga realizzata dai collettivi George Kilo e GIGA.

Like the last year, la rada (Locarno), joining the period of the International Film Festival in Locarno temporarely expands its show activity in the space on the same floor of the Centrale Swisscom, the Teatro dei Fauni, that we warmly thank and with which does continue a real synergy and collaboration.
Infact in the space of the Teatro dei Fauni Friday 15 July at 6pm la rada will open the first show abroad of the project New Void by the young Italian artist Alessandro Di Pietro (Como, 1987).
Included in the show Glitch – Interferenze tra arte e cinema, at the PAC-Padiglione di arte contemporanea (Milan) in 2014 and then exhibited only at CCC Strozzina (Florence) in the selection for the Visio prize, this project is the result of a performative gesture internal to the cinematographic linguistic system.
Such gesture is not based on the use of a camera as a tool for the production of images, but employs a manual scanner that identifies as material of the movie the layer that is closer to the artist's hand: the screen of his Macbook Pro.
Starting from the well-known movie Enter the Void (Gaspar Noé, 2009), the new scanned images become the raw material. This appropriation process, which almost quashes the aesthetic references of its source, creates the frames needed to build the narrative structure of the new film.
The result is a refined and complex conceptual operation that generates a film full of autobiographical references and with an alter ego – the protagonist Rasco – of Oscar, the pusher protagonist of Enter the Void, which name is its evident anagram.
New Void - The Movie sees the collaboration of Enrico Boccioletti, who created troughs his sound project Translationships 2011-2013, the original soundtrack and sound. Besides, the screenplay has been written together with Ana Shametaj, director and author from the theatre company Kokoschka Revival.
The opening will be Friday 15 July since 6pm, while the finissage will happen during the Film festival, Saturday 6 August, also at 6pm and it will be followed at 11pm by a party at la rada in honour of Gaspar Noé and Alessandro Di Pietro: a happening that will be enriched by other screenings and with live performances, that you'll know better later. Its relevant to denote that until 25 July is possible also to visit at la rada the surprizing show 1795: Kilo | 1960: Giga with the collectives George Kilo e GIGA.
