Donneconceptgallery presenta “Cinema Italia”, il progetto della fotografa Simon: 107 ritratti fotografici di attori italiani ambientati in stanze d’albergo in tutta europa.
Kasia Smutniak, Carolina Crescentini, Cristina Capotondi, Lando Buzzanca sono solo alcuni fra attori e attrici colte dall’obiettivo di Simon.
L’uso del flash, tratto distintivo dell’artista, focalizza l’attenzione su ciò che accade.
Gli attori si prestano a farsi ritrarre in un’atmosfera insolita che non necessariamente ricerca il glamour, ma al contrario vuole comunicare l’imperfezione, l’unicità e l’intimità del soggetto.
La mostra, già presentata con successo a Milano, è diventata un libro.

Simon, nata a Forlì, si diploma all’Istituto Europeo di design di Milano, la sua passione nasce quando a cinque anni il padre le regalò la prima macchina fotografica. In seguito perfeziona la sua tecnica a Londra realizzando i suoi primi progetti.
Tornata in Italia si dedica a varie attività tra cui adv per DIESEL, NIKE, FRANCESCO SCOGNAMIGLIO, DAVID MAYER NAMAN, TAKESHY KUROSAWA; collabora con numerosi magazines, tra cui D DI REPUBBLICA, L’UOMO VOGUE, VICE, GQ, ROLLING STONES ITALIA, MARIE CLAIRE ITALIA, ELLE UK.
Cinema Italia è il suo ultimo progetto, nato dal forte interesse per il mondo del grande schermo, e dall’idea di ritrarre attori e attrici italiani in un contesto diverso dal solito, lontano dall’immagine patinata del divo all’italiana, e con scatti più intimi e un pizzico di ironia. L’ambientazione prescelta è la stanza d’albergo, “non luogo” per eccellenza, ma per molti attori una seconda casa.
A vestire molti gli attori di Cinema Italia è la stylist Amelianna Loiacono, che ha contribuito notevolmente con il suo enorme bagaglio di capi vintage alla riuscita del progetto.

Donneconceptgallery presents “Cinema Italia”, which is a project of the photographer Simon: 107 photographic portraits of Italian actors, settled in hotel rooms all over Europe. Kasia Smutniak, Carolina Crescentini, Cristina Capotondi, Lando Buzzanca are only some of the actresses and actors grabbed by Simon’s lens.
The use of flash, which is the artist’s distinctive feature, focuses the attention on what is happening in the moment if shooting. The actors lend themselves to be sketched in an unusual atmosphere that not necessarily searches for glamour; instead, its aim is to communicate the imperfection, the uniqueness and the familiarity of the subject.
The exhibition, that has been already successfully represented in Milan, became a book.

Simon was born in Forlì. She graduates at IED in Milan. Her passion arises when, at five years old, her father gifts her with a first camera. Hereafter, she improves her technique in London, where she realizes her first projects. When she comes back to Italy, she devotes herself to many activities, such as adv for DIESEL, NIKE, FRANCESCO SCOGNAMIGLIO, DAVID MAYER NAMAN, TAKESHY KUROSAWA; she contributes to a great number of magazines, including D di REPUBBLICA, L’UOMO VOGUE, VICE, GQ, ROLLING STONES ITALY, MARIE CLAIRE ITALY, ELLE UK.
Cinema Italia is her last project. It began thanks to the strong interest of the artist towards the big screen, and also from the idea of portraying actors and actresses with a pinch of familiarity and humour, in a background that could result different from the usual, outwardly beautiful image of the Italian celebrity. The location chosen is the hotel room, the “non place” par excellence, but for many actors it corresponds to a second home.
The stylist Amelianna Loiacono, who considerably contributed to the success of the project thanks to her huge quantity of vintage garments, clothed the actors for Cinema Italia.
