Nocturnal Emissions è la prima mostra in Italia degli artisti e tatuatori Onnie O'Leary e Taco Monster a cura di Marta Bandini e Elettra Bottazzi, in programma dal 10 novembre al 3 dicembre 2017 alla Parione9 Gallery di Roma.

L’australiana Onnie e il californiano Taco collaborano da diverso tempo per sviluppare una ricerca artistica che prende forma sia su carta che su pelle con la creazione di tavole e tatuaggi a quattro mani. In mostra, accanto alle produzioni singole dei due artisti, sono esposte le opere frutto della loro collaborazione per un totale di oltre 40 pezzi.
Il titolo della mostra Nocturnal emissions allude alla loro pratica creativa e alla natura sessuale e intima del loro lavoro. Onnie, nella rappresentazione di una sessualità tutta al femminile attraverso la forma e il corpo della donna, si ispira ad illustratori come Milo Manara, Massimo Rotundo, Altuna e alle illustrazioni delle riviste heavy metal. La sua arte provoca, stupisce e ci svela il mondo dell’illecito e del nascosto. Taco invece trae ispirazione da diversi artisti come Caravaggio, Pablo Picasso, Brancusi e i surrealisti. Il suo stile astratto e visionario si fonde all’estetica forgiata nel mondo del tatuaggio in un risultato finale bizzarro e singolare.

Nocturnal emissions nasce quindi dall’intreccio di due differenti stili e personalità che combinandosi e completandosi tra loro danno vita ad opere ibride come reazione dell’unione di passione, ricerca e sperimentazione.


Onnie O’Leary tatuatrice professionista australiana svolge questo mestiere da sei anni. Quando non è in giro per il mondo tatua al The Lions Den Tattoo a Sydney.

Greg Deyer aka Taco Monster, americano di origine californiana, tatua da otto anni. E’ il curatore ed editore di “Dirty Magic Book”. Quando non è in viaggio svolge la sua professione a Berkley in California al War Horse Tattoo.

Nocturnal Emissions is Onnie O’Leary and Taco Monster’s first exhibition in Italy, curated by Marta Bandini and Elettra Bottazzi. The exhibition is planned from the 10th November until the 3rd December at Parione9 Gallery in Rome.

The Australian artist Onnie and the Californian Taco have worked together to come up with an artistic research that takes shape both on paper and skin with the creation of artworks and tattoos done by both of them. At the exhibition, next to their individual artistic productions, 40 more artworks generated by Onnie and Taco’s collaboration will be displayed. 
The exhibition title, Nocturnal Emissions, hints at the sexual and intimate nature of their work. Onnie, representing a feminine sexuality through the woman’s shape and body, was inspired by illustrators like Milo Manara, Massimo Rotundo, Altuna and by the illustrations of the heavy metal magazines. Her art provokes, amazes and reveals the world of the illicit and the hidden.
Taco, instead, draws inspiration from different artists like Caravaggio, Pablo Picasso, Brancusi and the surrealists. His visionary and abstract style merges with the aesthetics moulded in the tattoo world, with a final result that is both bizarre and singular.

Nocturnal Emissions arises from the entanglement of two different styles that combine and complete themselves, creating hybrid artworks from the reaction given by the union of passion, research and experimentation.

Onnie O’Leary has been tattooing professionally for 6 years and originally hails from Australia. When not on the road, Onnie can be found tattooing at The Lions Den Tattoo in Sydney.

Greg Dyer aka Taco Monster is American born and has been tattooing professionally for 8 years. He is the curator and publisher of the “Dirty Magic Book” . If not traveling, Greg can be found making sweet tattoo magic at War Horse Tattoo in Berkeley California.
