Since 1977 Lorenzo Pezzatini has been working in a medium of his own creation, the FILO, an uninterrupted ‘thread’ made of blue, yellow and red acrylic paint. For the last forty years the Filo has been his life companion in adventures of many shapes and sizes. For The Filo of the Others, the artist will exhibit new works by friends, former students and fellow artists inspired by the FILO.

Participants featured in the exhibition were invited through an open call to contribute a painting, a drawing, a photograph, a print, a video, a sculpture, an object, a text, or anything that shows a tangible sign of care and love that ties them to the memory of FILO.

"I have always understood that when Filo enters the hand, the mind, and the imagination of others it has the power to open pathways for new connections, serving as a catalyst for the creative process. I would like for this show to be a special occasion to open further dialogue between all those who have encountered the Filo through the years and have transformed it in their own way, to show its great disruptive potential." -Lorenzo Pezzatini

The exhibition will open on January 4 with a collection of works donated by friends and former students over the past 30 years. As more works arrive over the following two weeks, they will also be added to the show. At the closing reception on January 18, all the submitted works will be on view.

Dal 1977, Lorenzo Pezzatini ha lavorato sul medium della sua creazione, il FILO, uno filo ininterrotto fatto di pittura acrilica blu gialla e rossa. Negli ultimi quaranta anni il FILO è stato il suo compagno di vita in avventure di molte forme e misure. Per il Filo degli Altri, l’artista metterà in esposizione dei nuovi lavori di amici, ex studenti e colleghi artisti che hanno tratto ispirazione dal FILO.

Gli artisti che compaiono nell’esibizione sono stati invitati tramite una convocazione aperta a tutti per contribuire con un dipinto, un disegno, una fotografia, un video, una scultura, un oggetto, un testo, o qualsiasi cosa che mostri un tangibile segno di cura e affetto legato alla memoria del FILO.

“E’ sempre stato evidente che quando il FILO entra nella mano, nella mente e nell’immaginazione degli altri, ha il potere di aprire dei percorsi verso nuove connessioni, diventando un catalizzatore del processo creativo. Mi piacerebbe che questa esibizione fosse un’occasione speciale per aprire un ulteriore dialogo fra tutti coloro che negli anni hanno incontrato il FILO e lo hanno trasformato a modo loro, per mostrare il suo grande e dirompente potenziale.” Lorenzo Pezzatini

L’esibizione aprirà il 4 Gennaio con una collezione di opere donate da amici ed ex studenti degli ultimi 30 anni. Altre opere arriveranno nelle prossime due settimane e andranno ad arricchire alla mostra. Al ricevimento di chiusura del 18 Gennaio, tutte le opere pervenute saranno esposte nella mostra.
