L'Associazione Quasi Quadro presenta TWELVE HOURS, la prima mostra personale in Italia del fotografo curdo Rawsht Twana.
La ricerca fotografica dell'artista traduce in immagini istanti intrisi di stati d'animo ed emozioni, suggerendone altrettante nello spettatore.

Luoghi deserti, gente distratta e tanta confusione costituiscono le prime visioni, i primi scatti in quella che presto diventerà finalmente la città dell'artista Rawsht Twana: Torino.
Misteriose sensazioni avvolgono la mente di chi, in così poco tempo, si trova a dover affrontare una decisione che cambierà il corso della propria vita.
La storia di una scelta narrata in una mappa fotografica che porta il fruitore a immedesimarsi negli occhi dell'artista e di tanti altri, che per la prima volta, si trovano sbalzati in una realtà che non gli appartiene, tanto spaventosa quanto affascinante. Il presente e il futuro, dunque, da un lato... dall'altro il passato: testimone del suo stesso silenzio e del vuoto che lascia dentro, ci mette di fronte alla nostra inconsapevolezza riguardo a una terra e una storia di cui conosciamo soltanto poche sfumature.
Rawsht Twana nasce nel 1988 nella città di Qaladze, nel Kurdistan Iracheno. Attualmente vive e opera a Torino.
Inizia con la fotografia nel 2006, dopo aver trovato una scatola polverosa contenente foto e negativi dell'archivio fotografico del padre Twana, ucciso durante la rivolta del 1992.
Agli esordi della sua carriera fotografica ha lavorato come fotografo di backstage cinematografico. Dal 2009 fino al 2011, allo stesso tempo, ha aderito alla prima agenzia indipendente di fotografia irachena "METROGRAPHY" fino al 2017.
Nel 2012 ottiene il 3 ° posto del premio giornalistico "Open Eyes" in Iraq, per un servizio fotografico sulla sindrome di Down nella regione irachena del Kurdistan. .
Nel 2012 è stato invitato per il festival fotografico di Tbilisi e per Visa Pour l'Image, Festival internazionale di fotogiornalismo a Perpignan, Francia nelle edizioni 2013, 2015, 2017.
A settembre del 2017, con proseguimento fino all'8 gennaio 2018, "Over my Eyes" , mostra fotografica a Praga per i fotografi curdi iracheni e la grande mostra per l'archivio fotografico di Twana. Una parte della mostra Over my Eyes è stata presentata a Torino dal 1 marzo al 30 marzo.

Associazione Quasi Quadro presents TWELVE HOURS, solo exhibition of the Kurdish photographer Rawsht Twana. The artist's photographic research translates into instant images pregnant with moods and emotions, suggesting likewise in the viewer.

Deserted places, distracted people and so much confusion are the first visions, the first shots in what will soon become the city of the artist Rawsht Twana: Turin.
Mysterious sensations envelop the mind of those who, in such a short time, have to face a decision that will change the course of their lives.
The history of a choice narrated in a photographic map that carry the viewer to identify himself in the artist's eyes and the ones of many other people, who for the first are catapulted in a reality that does not belong to them, as frightening as fascinating. The present and the future, therefore, on a side ... on the other the past: witness of its own silence and the emptiness it leaves inside, it confronts us with our unawareness of a land and a history of which we know just a few nuanceses.

Rawsht Twana was born in 1988 in Qaladze Town, Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Actually he lives and works in Turin.
Starting Photography in 2006 after founding a dusty box full of photos and negatives of his father Twana’s Photo archive, who was killed during the uprising in 1992.
In 2012 got 3rd price of “open Eyes” journalism award in Iraq for a photo story about Dawn syndrome In Kurdistan region of Iraq.
From the beginning of photography worked as Cinema backstage photography from 2009 until 2011 at the same time Joined first independent Iraqi Photo agency “METROGRAPHY” until 2017.
In 2012 he's got invited for Tbilisi 2012 Photo festival
and for Visa Pour l’Image International Festival of Photojournalism In France Perpignan in the 2013, 2015, 2017 editions.
In September 2017, continued until 8th of January 2018, Over my Eyes Photo exhibition In Prague for Iraqi Kurds Photographers and large exhibition for Twana’s photo archive. A part of Over my eyes exhibition was showed in Torino 1st of march 2018 until 30th of march.
