La galleria The Flat-Massimo Carasi presenta la prima personale di Jonathan Vivacqua nella propria sede espositiva.

La mostra si incentra sulla rappresentazione di uno spazio delineato da traiettorie di pellicole che si intersecano trasversalmente, creando l’illusione di una copiosa porzione di scura massa vibrante.

Il volume che si oppone agli occhi del visitatore suggerisce il movimento e il riverbero dei fluidi colpiti dalla luce ed ondeggianti per effetto della marea.

Vivacqua interpreta così la struttura dello spazio della galleria, esaltandone le caratteristiche architettoniche ed i dettagli costruttivi e proiettandoci verso la dimensione del mare aperto.

Prendono inoltre corpo nella mostra altri elementi, quali le impronte prese dalla rampa d’accesso, assimilabili alle tracce lasciate dalle onde sul fondo sabbioso, e componenti che accentuano le varianti di luci ed ombra con cui l’artista plasma il proprio personalissimo scenario.

The Flat-Massimo Carasi presents Jonathan Vivacqua's first solo show at the gallery.

The exhibition focuses on the representation of a space delineated by intersecting trajectories of film that in turn create the illusion of a boundless, dark vibrating mass.

The voluminous form that confronts the visitor’s gaze suggests the reverberating movement of the light-struck waves as they roll in and out on the tide.

Thus Vivacqua interprets the structure of the gallery space, enhancing its architectural features and details of its construction, thrusting us towards the dimension of the open sea.

The exhibition also gives form to other elements, including imprints taken from the gallery access ramp – which recall the traces left by waves on the sandy sea floor –, and components that accentuate the variations of light and shadow with which the artist shapes his incredibly personal scenario.

Johnathan Vivacqua (born in Erba , Italy 1986 ) lives and works in Milan, Italy.
Studies: Art Academy of Brera in Milan.

In 2015 he took part to a residency program at the Carlo Zauli Museum of Faenza and he exposed in the “Artist Run Space” Space Bar, Taegu, South Korea and at “Protocombo” at Lissone Museum of Contemporary Art, Italy.
A special projects to report is the recent collaboration with MARIOS (Milan fashion brand) for the S/S18 and some of the most important magazines in the sector (vogue, marie clare, glamor) Milan during the women's fashion week, where it was presented “Domala”, a large metallic installation.
