Jasmine Deportas Arbeit setzt sich mit ihrer Umgebung und zwischenmenschlichen Beziehungen auseinander und ist eine persönliche Reflexion über Sehnsüchte, Ängste und vor allem Identität. Sie arbeitet hauptsächlich mit analogem Film und fängt introspektive Momente innerhalb ihrer Vision von Realität ein.

Die Ursprünge von Deporta als Fotografin gehen auf ihre ersten Versuche zurück, ihren Alltag festzuhalten, als sie im Alter von neun Jahren ihre erste analoge Kamera erhielt. Die Naivität ihrer Kindheitserfahrung bleibt bis heute in Jasmines Praxis erhalten. Die Arbeit im Jetzt, verbunden mit der Möglichkeit, Zufällen Raum zu lassen und intuitiv zu sein, ist Teil ihres Workflows und gibt ihr die Möglichkeit, nicht wiederholbare Momente in Ihrer Unverfälschtheit zu erfassen.

Deporta mag es, mit Kontrasten zu spielen. In ihrer Arbeit verlagert sie den Schwerpunkt vom Verborgenen auf das Sichtbare (Offensichtliche) und umgekehrt. Dies schwingt auch in ihrer Bildsprache mit, die feminin und weich, und dennoch melancholisch und illusorisch ist. Die Frauen, die in ihren Bildern zu sehen sind, sind oft verdeckt oder in irgendeiner Weise unsichtbar, doch ihre Präsenz strahlt Kraft und Ausgeglichenheit aus. Deporta verschmilzt performative Gesten, intime Begegnungen und alltägliche Symbolik zu neuen Szenarien und offenbart visuelle Bilder, die die natürliche und rohe Ehrlichkeit des Subjekts bewahren. Ihre Bilder sind dementsprechend nicht nur Bedeutungsträger, sondern auch Ausdruck von Begehren und Sehnsucht. In '11' zeigt Jasmine Deporta Bilder aus verschiedenen Serien. Sie kombiniert sie miteinander und fügt sie in einen Dialog aus Formen, Farben, Komposition und Inhalt und spielt dabei mit der Phantasie und Konnotation des Betrachters. Der Titel der Ausstellung verkörpert die persönliche Ebene von Deportas Werk, die sich auf ihren Geburtsdatum bezieht: 11.11.

Jasmine Deporta (1989, Italien) arbeitet multidisziplinär, hauptsächlich mit Fotografie. Nach ihrem Studium für Design und Künste und einigen Jahren künstlerischer und beruflicher Erfahrung zwischen Italien und Berlin verfolgt sie derzeit ihr Masterstudium in Fotografie an der ECAL in Lausanne, Schweiz.

Il lavoro di Jasmine Deporta riflette su ciò che la circonda, sulle relazioni ed è una riflessione personale sulla brama, la paura e soprattutto l'identità. Lavorando principalmente con pellicola analogica, cattura i momenti introspettivi nella sua personale visione della realtà.



Le origini di Deporta come fotografa derivano dai primi tentativi di catturare la sua vita di tutti i giorni, quando ricevette la sua prima fotocamera analogica all'età di nove anni. L'ingenuità che caratterizza l’esperienza dell'infanzia è ciò che rimane nella pratica di Jasmine fino ad oggi. Lavorare nel presente, lasciando spazio alla
coincidenza ed essere intuitivi fa parte del suo modus operandi e le dà la possibilità di cogliere realtà singolari nel modo più puro che esista.



Deporta ama giocare con i contrasti. Nel suo lavoro sposta l'enfasi da ciò che è ignoto a ciò che è visibile, e viceversa. Questo risuona anche nel suo linguaggio visivo, che è femminile e morbido ma, allo stesso tempo, malinconico e illusorio. Le donne che appaiono nelle sue immagini sono spesso oscurate o, in qualche modo, nascoste alla vista, eppure la loro presenza irradia forza ed equilibrio. L’artista fonde gesti performativi, incontri intimi e simbolismi quotidiani in nuovi scenari e rivela immagini visive che preservano la naturale e cruda
onestà del soggetto. Di conseguenza le sue fotografie non sono solo veicoli di significato ma vere espressioni del desiderio.



In '11’ Jasmine Deporta mostra immagini di serie diverse. Abbinandole tra loro le inserisce in un dialogo di forme, colori, composizione, contenuto e gioca con l'immaginazione e la connotazione dello spettatore. Jasmine Deporta (1989, Italia) è un'artista visiva multidisciplinare che lavora principalmente nel mondo della fotografia. Dopo i suoi studi di Design e Arte, e alcuni anni di esperienza artistica e lavorativa tra l’Italia e Berlino, attualmente sta seguendo il Master in Fotografia all'ECAL di Losanna, in Svizzera.

Jasmine Deporta's work reflects on her surroundings and relationships and is a personal reflection on longing, fear and most of all identity. Working mainly with analog film, she captures introspective moments within her vision of reality.



The origins of Deporta working as a photographer, derive from her first attempts to capture her everyday life when she got her first analog camera at the age of nine. The naivety from her childhood experience is what remains in Jasmine’s practice up until the present. Working in the now, along with leaving space for coincidence and being intuitive is part of her workflow, and gives her the possibility to catch unrepeatable realities in the most undiluted way.



Deporta likes to play with contrasts. In her work she shifts the emphasis from hidden to more obvious and vice versa. This also resonates in her visual language, which is feminine and soft but yet melancholic and illusory. Women that feature in her images are often obscured or hidden from view in some way, yet still, their presence radiates strength and poise. Deporta merges performative gestures, intimate encounters, and everyday symbolism into new scenarios and reveals visual imagery that preserves the natural and raw honesty of the subject. Her pictures consequently are not only vehicles of meaning but expressions of desire.



In ‘11’ Jasmine Deporta is showcasing pictures of different series. By pairing and juxtaposing them she enters them into a dialog of form, color, composition, and content and plays with the imagination and connotation of the viewer. The title of the exhibition implies the personal layer of Deporta’s work as it refers to her day of birth - the 11.11.



Jasmine Deporta (1989, Italy) is a multidisciplinary visual artist mainly working in photography. After her Design and Arts studies and some years of artistic and working experience between Italy and Berlin, she is currently following her master's degree in Photography at ECAL in Lausanne, Switzerland.
