ANIMA MUNDI consists of 3 main events: RITUALS, CONSCIOUSNESS and VISIONS. The artists have been invited to consider the main theme of ANIMA MUNDI as the invisible energy behind all the natural and artificial elements that allows the planet to live. Thanks to these hidden connections, all the ecosystems of the Earth, before and after the appearance of mankind, found their equilibrium, their ways to live and develop themselves, to transform and evolve. All the beings of the planet, plants, minerals, animals are permeated by a secret force that has always stimulated human thought and research. The festival aims to discover these multiple forms of hidden relationships between the soul and the body, mankind and the natural elements, the natural spaces and the cities.

It is very interesting to know how artists from all over the world deal with this theme, which leads us together. Maya Hage from Lebanon presents "Spectrum", her series of mixed media works, developed around the quest to find oneself. Her work is a balance between the harsh and the delicate, born from a creative routine, her personal ritual, that mirrors an instinctive habit to construct patterns that lead us to equally embrace and run away from one's fears and wounds. A Young Lee is a visual artist based in Seoul, Korea; her works are the results of research about language, communication, and emotions, everything that involves human thoughts. As we can see in “Dear Yeong Mi” she creates a new way of communication by dismantling the essential elements of a language: colour and texture are consonants and vowels and together they represent a new meaning.

The Italian photographers Alessandro Giugni and Luca Sorato present their idea of the connection between the inner and outer world linked: while Giugni affirms that he feels the need to tell the human being contextualized in the time in which we live, Sorato in “Urban Humans, extraordinarily normal people and places” wants to portray moments in which every place becomes a stage and people transform the ordinary of everyday life into something extraordinary. We are glad to present also a screening program of video works and a selection of performances that enrich the main theme of this exhibition.
