Lunedì 12 settembre 2022, alle ore 19.00, Quartz Studio è lieto di presentare The whisper of the peacock becomes a snake, la prima personale a Torino di Alessandro Roma (Milano, 1979), con un testo critico di Irina Zucca Alessandrelli.

La personale di Alessandro Roma è un invito a smarrirsi per ritrovarsi, un inno alla rêverie in una natura sinuosa e animata. Un mondo vegetale in profonda simbiosi con quello animale, tanto da apparire inscindibile, accoglie il visitatore e lo avvia verso un immaginario floreale con piume di pavone. L’intera mostra, che si compone di due grandi tele, una ceramica e una stampa xilografica, si sofferma su forme mutanti da anfibi a volatili e viceversa.

Alessandro Roma (Milano, Italia, 1977) vive e lavora a Faenza. Roma si è diplomato all’Accademia di Belle Arti di Milano. La ricerca dell'artista è caratterizzata da un approccio pittorico predominante, frutto della sua formazione accademica e dell'attività giovanile. Di recente Roma ha indagato diverse tecniche, esplorando la fusione, la stampa su tessuto, la ceramica e il collage. Ciò ha portato a un repertorio completamente nuovo di paesaggi interiori, derivanti sia da esperienze reali che da fonti letterarie, che trasforma la sua immaginazione su di lui in qualcosa di tangibile e accessibile allo spettatore. On Monday, September 12, 2022, at 7:00 pm, Quartz Studio is pleased to present The whisper of the peacock becomes a snake, the first solo show in Turin by Alessandro Roma (Milan, Italy, 1979), with a critical text by Irina Zucca Alessandrelli.

Alessandro Roma's solo show invites us to get lost to find ourselves again, an ode to reverie in lush, alive nature. The plant world is in deep symbiosis with the animal world, appearing as if one, welcoming visitors and guiding them with a peacock feather towards a floral imaginary. The entire show consists of two large canvases, one ceramic piece, and a woodcut print, focusing on forms that mutate from amphibians to birds and back again.

Alessandro Roma (Milan, Italy, 1977) lives and works in Faenza, Italy. He graduated from the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan. His work is shaped by a predominantly pictorial approach that comes out of his academic training and his early work. Roma has recently explored a variety of techniques, including casting, printing on fabric, ceramics, and collage. This has led to a completely new repertoire of interior landscapes, the fruit of both real-life experiences and literary sources, rendering his imagination accessible and tangible to the viewers.
