Gian Maria Tosatti – My dreams they’ll never surrender

L'opera permanente My dreams, they'll never surrender di Gian Maria Tosatti, concepita nel 2014 per Castel Sant’Elmo a Napoli, verrà riaperta al pubblico sabato 29 ottobre 2022. Il luogo, che domina la città dalla collina, è stato per tutta la sua storia una fortezza carceraria e l’opera è dedicata a tutti quegli uomini e quelle donne - come Antonio Gramsci, Luisa Sanfelice, Nelson Mandela, Rubin Carter - che da dentro una cella sono riusciti a trovare la forza per cambiare il mondo.
L’opera è un campo di grano di circa 1000 metri quadrati, costruito trenta metri sotto terra, nel cuore più buio del castello.
Alle ore 11 si terrà un talk di presentazione e l'opera sarà visibile fino alle ore 17.

The permanent work My dreams, they'll never surrender by Gian Maria Tosatti, conceived in 2014 for Castel Sant'Elmo in Naples, will reopen to the public on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2022. The site, which dominates the city from the hill, has been a prison fortress throughout its history, and the work is dedicated to all those men and women - such as Antonio Gramsci, Luisa Sanfelice, Nelson Mandela, Rubin Carter - who from inside a cell managed to find the strength to change the world.
The work is a 1,000-square-meter wheat field, built thirty meters underground, in the darkest heart of the castle.
A presentation talk will be held at 11 a.m., and the work will be on view until 5 p.m.
