The exhibition features the pieces originally part of a typical Japanese wooden house, awaiting demolition. These days, these kinds of habitations are more and more abandoned as a consequence of the country’s declining population. In Venice, the pieces from the dismantled house find new uses as components of new objects, along with elements collected locally, exhibited in the pavilion.
