Abstract speaking – sharing uncertainty and collective acts è il progetto di Koki Tanaka che rappresenta il Giappone alla Biennale di Venezia.

Comunicato stampa

The Japan Foundation has nominated the National Museum of Modern Art of Tokyo curator Mika Kuraya as curator of Japan Pavilion. The Japanese Los Angeles based artist Koki Tanaka will represent the country in Venice.
In his diverse art practice spanning video, photography, site-specific installation and interventional projects, Koki Tanaka visualizes and reveals the multiple contexts latent in the most simple of everyday acts.
Kuraya and Tanaka are planning to consider the aftereffects of the March 2011 Earthquake in a reconsideration of how Japan introduce itself to the world. The goal is to use Tanaka's video and installation works to query the possibilities for how we conceive the experiences of others through our own viewpoints.
