Barbati Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of Adam Alessi's first exhibition in Italy, Fields. Alessi will present a new body of works realized specifically for the spaces of Palazzo Lezze on Campo Santo Stefano.

Adam Alessi (b. 1994, Los Angeles, USA) is a self-taught painter who composes an esoteric realm with a host of familiar yet uncanny elements. Beginning with a color field or a tenebrous background, Alessi has incorporated figures which emerge from his dreams, confronting moments that veer the line between fantasy and nightmare. For this exhibition and for the first time the artist is letting these environments stand on their own, allowing a more subtle venue for contemplation.

His work has been included in group exhibitions at Karma, New York: C L E A R I N G, New York and Los Angeles; Matthew Brown, Los Angeles; ADZ, Portugal; White Columns, New York; Paulina Caspari Gallery, Munich; Galeria mascot, Mexico City; Miles McEnery, New York; Galería Mascota, Mexico City; NADA House with Zoe Fisher Projects, New York; Felix Art Fair with M+B, Los Angeles; HOUSE, Berlin; and Public Gallery, London.
