Comunicato stampa
"Conjured Rhythms" introduces the inaugural solo exhibition of young artist Adriana Ghimp. Born in 1996 in Chișinău, Moldova, Ghimp's artistic exploration revolves around a highly performative drawing practice.
This practice immerses itself in bodily experience, extending it spatially and aiming to transcend physical boundaries through intense interaction within the components of the performance. These interactions encompass leaving traces on a surface, auditory intuition, and tactile perception of the materials and tools utilized. Auditory perception, especially, plays a crucial role: preceding and during the performance, sounds inspire and guide the artist's gestures, while body movements interact with surfaces and materials, producing additional sounds.
These elements merge into a dynamic and non-hierarchical process where intentionality diffuses. External stimuli blend continuously with intentional movements, which, by generating sounds, images, and tactile sensations, become stimuli for the surrounding environment.
This process leads to intricate feedback loop systems, integrating stimuli, responses, intentions, and perceptions, all evident through the traces left on the drawing surface.
