Apre il 9 giugno la terza personale di Aldo Runfola (Palermo 1950, vive e lavora a Berlino) alla Galleria Michela Rizzo, dopo il solo show “Eventi” nel 2014 e “Welcome-Goodbye” nel 2004.
Questa volta, a partire dal titolo “Aldo Runfola”, in mostra si potranno vedere i ritratti della serie AR che coinvolgono l’artista empaticamente e con le sue iniziali, con Arthur Rimbaud – per esempio – o con le simpatie letterarie nei confronti di Deleuze o Nietzsche, o gli amici Thomas Locher e Rudolf Stingel.
Un pensiero sui “casuali” punti di contatto, ideale e professionale, che si ritrovano anche nella scelta di iscrivere una serie di Nomi di colleghi su un supporto fragile come il cartone: è giusto essere nella lista che Runfola stila? O sarebbe meglio non esserci? Che cosa hanno in comune Carla Accardi e Pawel Althamer? La roulette del “caso” continua con la serie delle Macchie o Gocce. Levando lo status di autorialità, l’artista innesca un processo produttivo “al nero” non finalizzato ad alcun risultato se non a saturare il campo d’azione della tela. Macchie come strabordanti identità, nell’epoca del riconoscibile e della ricerca spasmodica di un “tono”. Una mostra che è uno spietato, quanto sottile, atto di critica del contemporaneo.

The third solo show of Aldo Runfola (Palermo 1950, lives and works in Berlin) opens at Michela Rizzo Gallery on June 9th, after the exhibitions "Eventi" in 2014 and "Welcome-Goodbye" in 2004.
The show will start from the title "Aldo Runfola", with the portraits of the AR series that involve the artist (and his initials) empathetically with Arthur Rimbaud - for example - or with the literary sympathies towards Deleuze or Nietzsche, or friends Thomas Locher and Rudolf Stingel.
A thought on the "casual" points of contact, ideal and professional, which are also present in the choice to enroll a series of Names of colleagues on a fragile support such as cardboard: it is right to be presents in the list drafted by Runfola? Or would it be better not to be there? What do Carla Accardi and Pawel Althamer have in common? The "case" roulette continues with the Spots or Drops. In this series the autoriality status it was erased and the artist triggers a production process that is not aimed at any result other than to saturate the canvas's field. Every drops are identic to any others and appears like an overflowing identity "looking for the author" in the age of "recognizable", where everybody looking spasmodicly for a "tone" to show at all. An exhibition that's a critical act about contemporary world, in a merciless and subtle way.
