Opening on 20 October, BODYBUILDERS is a solo exhibition and book launch by London/Milan based photographer Alien, documenting the New Drag and Club Kid alternative scene in the UK.
Alien explores themes of identity, self-expression, and extravaganza, through a series of portraits featuring 30 of the most interesting performers in the UK, whose work centers on the body, its distortion or embellishment.

Situated at the crossroads of visual and performing arts, gender studies, activism, and critical reflection, the book includes introductory texts by Helen Hester, author of Xenofeminism, and Lewis G. Burton, founder of London queer night Inferno.
Featured performers include Bo Quinn, Spook, Shrek 666, Jenkin Van Zyl, Trashedbaby, Laura Bowels, Salvia, Wesley Manners, Prince JayJay, Stella Marbles, Miss Cabbage, Parma Ham, Tulani Hlalo, Fancy Shews, Sonora, Neco London, Wet Mess, Eriko Eva Martins, Staar, Miss Jake, Zoe Von Lewdwig, Holly Warcup, Gorga M’llaurie, Dakota Schiffer, Lewis G. Burton, Sgàire Wood, Dirrty Harry, Jean Ocidio, Milk Shandy, and Captin Baybe.

This event is part of the Warm-Up series building up to the 10th edition of SPRINT—Independent Publishers and Artists’ Books Salon, whose Art Book Fair & Public Program will take place at Spazio Maiocchi from 26–27 November.
