Anselm Kiefer's forthcoming exhibition at the gallery in Rome includes paintings and sculpture, monumental images of islands in a blue sea, with titles which reference Homer, Alexander the Great, the Bible, Beethoven, and Twentieth Century poets.

These works explore themes such as myth, history, and human knowledge, concerns with which the artist has grappled in a carreer that spans over sixty years.
