La Galleria Tiziana Di Caro ha il piacere di inaugurare Art in between. Viaggio nell'immaginazione fluttuante, una mostra collettiva a cura di Giacomo Zaza, con opere di Olga Chernysheva, Sofia Hultén, Alexey Kallima, Susanne Kutter e Wolfgang Plöger, sabato 28 maggio 2011 dalle ore 19.00 alle ore 24.00.
Le opere in mostra sono eterogenee in termini di media espressivi: fotografia, installazione, video, disegno sono alcune delle tecniche scelte, con l'obiettivo di presentare l'esperienza di chi si trova nel mezzo. Gli artisti selezionati dimostrano una precisa consapevolezza del mondo in cui vivono, ma lo analizzano da attenti osservatori, più che da interpreti coinvolti. Le opere selezionate commentano vari ambiti del contemporaneo, alle volte in modo sarcastico, altre con sottili metafore, giungendo a risultati mai polemici, ma spesso conturbanti.
La società contemporanea russa è al centro dei lavori di Olga Chernysheva (Mosca, 1962), che presenta una serie di recenti fotografie e un video del 2003, Russian Museum, in cui la lettura di importanti quadri presenti nelle collezioni dello State Russian Museum di San Pietroburgo è distorta dai riflessi continui dei visitatori sui vetri, figure che entrano nella visione dell'opera alterandone la fruizione.
Una miriade di piccoli oggetti, rinvenuti in una vecchia cassetta degli attrezzi, sono i "protagonisti" del video Past Particles di Sofia Hultén (Stoccolma, 1972), le cui immagini si susseguono come in una sorta di assurdo glossario visivo di forme, colori, materiali.
Nel ciclo di foto Closed Party, Alexey Kallima (Groznyy, 1969) opera su ritratti di noti vips tedeschi, trasformandoli in grotteschi e stravaganti personaggi che sembrano alienarsi dalla realtà.
In Trilogie der Illusion. Die Maske. Die Täuschung. Die Falle, video di Susanne Kutter (Wernigerode, 1971) del 2010, un ragno, uno scarafaggio e una farfalla vivono ambienti familiari e casalinghi, come fossero i soli interpreti della quotidianità.
Nel lavoro di Wolfgang Plöger (Münster, 1971) dei semplici neon sono il supporto su cui sono arrotolate delle pellicole, la cui decodificazione è possibile solo azionando la luce, in un gioco di interpretazioni che non è immediato, al contrario prevede la precisa volontà dell'osservatore. Infine un'installazione site specific è composta da una serie di pellicole da 16 mm, su cui è riportata una grafia tremolante e insicura, che attraverso dei proiettori si estende nello spazio, ma, continuando a scorrere in modo perpetuo, rimane indecifrabile.

Galleria Tiziana Di Caro is delighted to announce Art in between. Journey into swaying imagination, a group show curated by Giacomo Zaza, featuring works by Olga Chernysheva, Sofia Hultén, Alexey Kallima, Susanne Kutter and Wolfgang Plöger, Saturday 28 May 2011, from 19.00 until 24.00.
The works on exhibition are diverse in terms of the media used to create them: photography, installation, video, drawing are some of the techniques adopted, the aim being that of featuring the experience of who is within. The selected artists are clearly well aware of the world in which they live, but their take on it is more as observers than as involved performers. The works on selection comment various areas of the contemporary, at times with sarcasm, at others with subtle metaphors, never controversial but often intriguing in their outcome.
The contemporary Russian society is at the heart of the works by Olga Chernysheva (Moscow, 1962), who exhibits a series of recent photographs and a video, Russian Museum (2003), in which the fruition of important paintings included in the collections of State Russian Museum in St. Petersburg is distorted by the unrelenting reflections of the visitors on the glass, thus altering the vision.
A plethora of small objects, originally found in an old toolbox, are the 'protagonists' of Past Particles, a video by Sofia Hultén (Stockholm, 1972) in which images follow one another like in an absurd visual glossary of shapes, colors and materials.
In the series of pictures Closed Party, Alexey Kallima (Groznyy, 1969) modifies the portraits of well-known German VIPs, transforming them into grotesque and extravagant characters which seem to break away from reality.
In Trilogie der Illusion. Die Maske. Die Täuschung. Die Falle (2010), a video by Susanne Kutter (Wernigerode, 1971), a spider, a cockroach and a butterfly inhabit domestic environments, as if they were the only protagonists of everyday life.
In the work of Wolfgang Plöger (Munster, 1971), film is wrapped around simple neon lights, and the decoding of the film can only take place when the light is turned on, in a interpretation game which is not direct, requiring determination on behalf of the viewer. Lastly, a site-specific installation consists of a series of 16 mm films, on which a shakily handwritten text is expanded by projectors, indecipherable in its looping motion.
