Aurore Valade – Respira! Dopo il COVID19

Gagliardi e Domke presenta una mostra particolarmente emozionante della fotografa francese Aurore Valade.

Scavando nella collezione ho scoperto un lavoro di Aurore Valade: “L’Or Gris” una visione sognante dell’artista dedicata alla generazione che ora è la più colpita dalla pandemia, gli ultra settantenni.

Per questo, in occasione del Re-Opening delle gallerie torinesi, dopo la lunga pausa di attività determinata dal Coronavirus, Gagliardi e Domke presenta una mostra particolarmente emozionante della fotografa francese Aurore Valade. Aurore alcuni anni fa ha voluto dedicare alla terza età una serie di scatti fotografici, nei quali trapela una visione ottimistica di libertà, o di liberazione dalle costrizioni e infine: poetica. Dopo la recente tragedia che ha visto al centro un’intera generazione di anziani, possiamo considerare, assieme all’artista, la visionaria serie “L’Or Gris”, un grande auspicio di serenità per il futuro.

AURORE VALADE, 1981

Fotografa francese diplomata a l’École des Beaux-arts de Bordeaux e a l’École Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie d’Arles. Il suo lavoro sugli “Intérieurs” le ha valso numerosi premi (Prix du Photo Folio Review des Rencontres d’Arles 2017, Prix de la Fondation HSBC pour la photographie 2008, Prix Quinzaine photographique nantaise 2006, Bourse du Talent 2005, Prix du Musée d’art moderne de Collioure 2006, Prix Arca Swiss 2005).

Vive fra Arles, dove insegna fotografia, e Madrid, spirito nomade, ha vissuto a Marsiglia, Torino, Parigi, Città del Messico, in ogni luogo ha tratto ispirazione per delle serie fotografiche specifiche.

Aurore realizza le sue fotografie a partire da delle messe in scena, che sono delle autentiche azioni performative e di profonda indagine psicologica delle persone che abitano la scena.

Digging into the collection I discovered a work by Aurore Valade: “L’Or Gris” a dreamy vision of the artist dedicated to the generation that is now the most affected by the pandemic, the over-seventies.

For this reason, on the occasion of the Re-Opening of the Turin galleries, after the long pause of activity determined by the Coronavirus, Gagliardi and Domke presents a particularly exciting exhibition by the French photographer Aurore Valade. Some years ago Aurore wanted to dedicate a series of photographic shots to the third age, in which an optimistic vision of freedom, or liberation from constraint, and finally: poetry. After the recent tragedy that has seen an entire generation of elderly people at its centre, we can consider, together with the artist, the visionary series “L’Or Gris”, a great hope of serenity for the future.

AURORE VALADE, 1981

French photographer graduated from the École des Beaux-arts de Bordeaux and the École Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie d’Arles. Her work on “Intérieurs” has won her numerous awards (Prix du Photo Folio Review des Rencontres d’Arles 2017, Prix de la Fondation HSBC pour la photographie 2008, Prix Quinzaine photographique nantaise 2006, Bourse du Talent 2005, Prix du Musée d’art moderne de Collioure 2006, Prix Arca Swiss 2005).

She lives between Arles, where she teaches photography, and Madrid, a nomadic spirit, she lived in Marseille, Turin, Paris, Mexico City, in every place she found inspiration for specific photographic series.

Aurore’s photographs are based on staging, which are authentic performative actions and profound psychological investigation of the people who inhabit the scene.
