Questa non è la mostra che avevamo programmato.

La mostra che doveva inaugurarsi era la personale di Omar Ba. Ne abbiamo parlato a lungo, l’abbiamo progettata e abbiamo dato gli ultimi ritocchi poche settimane fa. Improvvisa arriva una telefonata dal Senegal: alla vigilia delle nozze di Omar la sorella ha un malore; una corsa all’ospedale e la notizia che nessuno vorrebbe sentirsi dare.
Tutto cambia. Niente nozze, la mostra bisogna rimandarla.
Che fare?
Si mischiano le carte, se ne estrae una a caso ( cinque di coppe….i tarocchi non fanno per noi).
Ognuno consulta i propri oracoli per trarre gli auspici .
Nume tutelare della galleria è Alighieri Boetti. Ordine e Disordine. Un Punto di partenza e uno spunto di riflessione sulla vita: non esiste l’uno senza l’altro. Non c’è la vita senza morte.

Questa mostra nasce dal nostro desiderio di reagire, ognuno a modo suo, traendo il proprio contributo dall’esperienza che abbiamo maturato. E’ un tentativo di ritrovare delle coordinate dopo che una folata di vento ha spalancato la finestra e fatto volare le carte dal tavolo.

Questa mostra la dedichiamo a Omar, Oumar, Chiara e a tutti quelli che nella vita hanno improvvisamente incrociato il proprio destino.

This is not the exhibition we were planning.
The exhibition that was supposed to open was a solo show by Omar Ba. We talked it over at length, adding the finishing touches just a few weeks ago. Suddenly a phone call came from Senegal: on the eve of Omar’s wedding his sister felt ill; she was rushed to the hospital, and the news was of the kind no one would ever want to hear.
Everything changed. There was no wedding and the exhibition was postponed.
Now what? You shuffle the deck, pick a card (five of hearts… we’re not into Tarot).
To each his own oracle.
The gallery’s tutelary deity is Alighieri Boetti. Order and Disorder: a starting point and a spur to reflection on life: one cannot exist without the other. There is no life without death.
This exhibition springs from our desire to react, each in his or her own way, basing a contribution on gained experience. It is an attempt to get our bearings after a gust of wind has thrust open the window and blown the cards off the table.
We dedicate this exhibition to Omar, Oumar, Chiara and all those who in life have suddenly crossed paths with fate.
