Civitella Ranieri Foundation presents the second edition of Casting the Castle, a project curated by Saverio Verini, scheduled for Saturday, June 22nd, 2019. As the title suggests, Casting the Castle will reveal an uncensored version of Civitella Ranieri by opening it to the public and unveiling its spaces, in the interest of strong visitor involvement and interaction. This project is structured in two parts: a series of performances by Cristian Chironi (DG 2012), Francesca Grilli (CRF 2017) and Cesare Pietroiusti (CRF 1996), and an exhibition of collages created by Mark Strand (DG 2008), one of the world’s most important contemporary poets. Both parts are scattered throughout the wonderful castle that, for the past 25 years, has functioned as a residency program for visual artists, writers, composers, and researchers from all over the world.

Performances by Cesare Pietroiusti and Francesca Grilli will allow 25 participants a time, at 10 minute intervals from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM. Space for Cristian Chironi's performance has a closed number of participants, and is subject to reservation.

Civitella Ranieri Foundation presenta la seconda edizione di Casting the Castle, a cura di Saverio Verini, in programma sabato 22 giugno. Il progetto intende caratterizzarsi come una celebrazione di Civitella e della sua comunità, con gli spazi del castello che saranno aperti al pubblico, nel segno di una forte interazione con i visitatori. Casting the Castle si articola in due parti: una serie di performance di Cristian Chironi, Francesca Grilli e Cesare Pietroiusti (già borsisti a Civitella), disseminate negli ambienti del meraviglioso castello che da 25 anni ospita il programma di residenze per artisti visivi, scrittori, compositori e ricercatori provenienti da tutto il mondo; e una mostra di collage realizzati da Mark Strand, tra i massimi poeti contemporanei statunitensi. L’appuntamento fa parte delle iniziative per festeggiare i 25 anni della Fondazione, da sempre attiva nel supportare la ricerca artistica in tutte le sue forme espressive.

Sono ammesse 25 persone alla volta per le performance di Cesare Pietroiusti e Francesca Grilli, con ingressi ogni 10 minuti dalle 18:30 alle 19:30. Disponibilità di posti limitati per la performance di Cristian Chironi.
