In occasione degli eventi promossi per il Fuorisalone del Mobile di Milano, dal 9 al 14 aprile 2013, l'artista Marco Papa e il fotografo Max Botticelli presentano la performance itinerante Coniugi Project, in collaborazione con Bruno Simeone, stilista del marchio di haute-á-porter Rossorame.
Nell’ambito dell’ormai consolidata quarta edizione dell’iniziativa Ventura Lambrate, nel nuovo quartiere milanese del design e dell'arte, si inserisce Coniugi Project, progetto fortemente voluto da Marco Papa.
In una complessa e imponente installazione, realizzata dall'azienda marchigiana Asset & Retail Management, la performance indaga sui confini tra maschile e femminile intesi come dualismo e simbiosi all'interno della condizione umana, che ritrova nell'opera fotografica di Max Botticelli una variante di contrasto.
Marco Papa e Max Botticelli mettono in scena un progetto in cui delineano la scelta di suddividere delle competenze etiche, estetiche e artistiche. Una riflessione in controtendenza che riporta l'attenzione a un'esigenza "primitiva" di design e del fare umano. Un progetto itinerante in cui uno stilista sempre diverso si confronterà con i due artisti ideatori della performance.
L'idea di poter esporre il progetto a Lambrate arricchisce le sue potenzialità. La performance/installazione, alchimia di diversi linguaggi, rispecchia in parte l'evoluzione di Lambrate che da "luogo-non-luogo" è stato trasformato, nel corso di pochi anni, in spazio contemporaneo dove la ricerca artistica si mescola con le intuizioni tecniche e il vivere.
Coniugi Project presenta:
La nuova collezione di Marco Papa Oggetti Dipinti, sculture di design realizzate in fibra di carbonio, numerate e firmate. Le opere in mostra, la cui tiratura è di nove esemplari scolpiti e lavorati dallo stesso autore sulle dimensioni umane, sono pezzi da collezione, ma allo stesso tempo modelli per l’industrial design.
Le forme degli oggetti accompagnano il corpo nella sua naturale postura, in una torsione avvolgente.
La ricerca nasce nel 1996 da disegni in grafite che Marco Papa ha realizzato su pagine strappate da libri e riviste di moda, design e arte, oggi diventati tridimensionali in carbonio.
La sequenza di fotografie in bianco e nero di Max Botticelli dal titolo In un moto perpetuo, ha come spazio/visione il corpo umano (gentilmente offerto dalla Famiglia Margini).
Il fotografo, concentrandosi su particolari del corpo, tende così a trasformarlo da materia sensibile a proiezione metafisica di uno spazio/tempo assoluto e impalpabile. Il corpo umano è topos: un paesaggio sospeso dove i dettagli sussurrano la sua originale natura.
Due abiti appositamente disegnati dello stilista Bruno Simeone, che interpretando i contenuti del progetto realizza questo concetto di movimento sul corpo umano, crea delle forme che seguono e delinano la sinuosità dei corpi in tutte le possibili posizioni umane.
Interpreti della performance: Elena Fontana Paganini ed Helena Mannella, allieve del I° Corso di Teatrodanza della Scuola Paolo Grassi di Milano, coordinato da Marinella Guatterini.

"Due donne somiglianti interpretano in tempi alterni e coordinati Mascolinità e Femminilità. Sono due Coniugi, un Nucleo, un'Unità. Si cambiano abiti, si scambiano di ruolo, si spostano in simulazioni di spazi sia interni di un'abitazione che esterni, urbani, sfondando ogni volta la loro finzione scenica per passare e superare ognuno di questi set. Nei loro passaggi, raccolgono in tracce materiche la pittura che costruisce l'intera installazione.
Come nella realtà, vivono le dimensioni e le forme di ogni oggetto.
Le sedute, le pareti, gli angoli allestiti, così come riti di vita, ci portano in una dimensione odierna, dove il maschile e il femminile sono in continuo compenetrarsi ed allo stesso tempo escludersi"

On the occasion of the Fuorisalone del Mobile events that take place in Milan from 9th to 14th April 2013, the artist Marco Papa and the photographer Max Botticelli present the itinerant performance Coniugi Project, in cooperation with Bruno Simeone, fashion designer of the haute-à-porter brand Rossorame.
Coniugi Project, highly desired by Marco Papa, finds its place in the new Milanese district of design and art within the 4th edition of the now consolidated Ventura Lambrate exhibition area.
Thanks to a complex and imposing installation set up by the Asset and Retail Management firm from the Marches, the performance investigates the boundaries between masculine and feminine interpreted as dualism and symbiosis of the human condition, which finds a variant of contrast in Max Botticelli's photographic work.
Marco Papa and Max Botticelli put on stage a project in which they choose to distinguish ethical from aesthetical and artistic competences. The two artists bucks the trend with a reflection which focuses on a “primitive” necessity of design and of the human doing. An itinerant project in which a fashion designer, each time different, will confront himself with the two project creators.
The chance to exhibit the project at Lambrate enriches its potential. The performance/installation, melting pot of different languages, partially reflects the evolution of Lambrate, which from a “place-non place” status, has been transformed in few years in a contemporary area, where the artistic research can be mixed with technical intuitions and living.
Coniugi Project presents:
The new collection of Marco Papa, Oggetti Dipinti, comprises numbered and signed design sculptures made of carbon fibre. The artist will exhibit his latest works, realized by the author himself in nine samples and on human scales. The sculptures are collection pieces, but at the same time they are models for industrial design.
The shapes of the objects lead the body in its natural posture, in an enveloping twist.
The research was born in 1996 by Marco Papa’s graphite drawings realised on books and fashion, design and art magazines torn pages that nowadays have become 3D sculptures in carbon fibre.
The Max Botticelli's black and white photographic sequences, named In un moto perpetuo, has the human body (kindly offered by the Margini family) as space/vision.
The photographer, focusing on human body details, transforms it from sensible matter to metaphysical projection of an absolute and impalpable space/time. The human body is a topos: a suspended landscape where the details whisper its original nature.
Two dresses specifically drawn by Bruno Simeone. The fashion designer interprets the project and transfers this movement concept on human body creating shapes that follow and delineate the body sinuosity in every possible human position.

Two similar women interpret Masculinity and Femininity in alternate and co-ordinate times. They are Spouses, a Group, a Unit, they change dresses, exchange roles, they move into simulations of a house's inner space and in external urban spaces, every time breaking through their stage - fiction, crossing and overcoming each one of these sets. By passing, they gather, in material traces, the painting that builds the whole set. Like in reality, they live the dimensions and the shapes of each object.
The seats, the walls, the furnished corners, just like life rituals, take us in a today's dimension, where masculine and feminine interpenetrate non-stop and exclude each other at the same time.

Carbon fibre table. It is made up of a single piece that twists in a central spiral gap. Its shape make the table versatile indeed and a lot of functional objects could be insert in the gap, as an example a computer or a lamp cable. It could be utilised to place a sun umbrella, a centrepiece or a vase.

Small table/dumbwaiter. Base in steel covered in eco-friendly leather, adjustable height. The drop-shaped surface in rigid polyurethane is a reminiscent of an artist’s palette. Colours: Iridescent green/sand and green/purple.
