Boccanera Gallery Trento presenta Dreams never end, la prima personale del giovane pittore rumeno Cristian Avram (Alba-Iulia - RO, 1994).

Suddivisa in due parti, la mostra descrive i diversi filoni di ricerca del lavoro dell’artista. L’anteprima, inaugurata il 29 gennaio 2020, presso Boccanera Gallery Milano, ha presentato i lavori dedicati agli spazi industriali e abitativi, richiamando gli ambienti tipici del vecchio quartiere operaio di Milano-Lambrate.

La mostra presso Boccanera Gallery Trento dedica un'attenzione particolare ai lavori che ritraggono la dimensione umana e il paesaggio. In queste tele, l’artista analizza una nuova visione romantica e introspettiva della ricerca figurativa.

Le opere di Cristian Avram sono strettamente legate a un approccio classico della pittura. L’artista trae dalle sue esperienze ricordi della sua memoria e, attraverso le velature del colore, crea dimensioni che si fanno spazio tra un passato incompiuto e un futuro da scoprire.

Cristian Avram è cresciuto tra le campagne vicine ad Alba-Iulia, in piena Transilvania, ed è lì che ha osservato un mondo di contrasti, tra la vita rurale e l’immaginario post-sovietico. Attraverso i suoi studi alla prestigiosa Accademia di pittura di Cluj Napoca, nella capitale artistica dell’Est europeo, ha saputo interpretare la sue visione della pittura contemporanea, ampliando la narrazione del vissuto umano che viene dipinto attraverso una formula di riflessione.

La rappresentazione della realtà di Avram serve a indagare le possibilità che il colore offre nella costruzione dell’immaginario personale e collettivo. Per Avram, la tela è un luogo di relazioni: tra colore, forma e quotidianità. Ed è in questo rapporto che il colore assume uno status preponderante e viene trattato secondo un complesso dialogo tra toni e luci, che prendono significato in un organico rapporto di insieme.

Cristian Avram esplora la collisione tra mondo interno e mondo esterno, un ossimoro che da origine a un senso del tempo immemore, non databile, che cela luoghi dell’anima. Con un’analisi sull’estetica dello spazio, tenta di sondare le possibili alterazioni dell’ambiente, dal tangibile all’immateriale, alla dimensione privata a quella sociale.

Cristian Avram è nato a Alba-Iulia in Romania nel 1994. Nel 2019 ha ottenuto il diploma in pittura all’Accademia di belle arti di Cluj-Napoca. Nel 2018 ha partecipato alla mostra collettiva Talking about my generation alla galleria Plan B di Cluj-Napoca (RO). Nel 2020 è stato selezionato da José Esparza Chong Cuy, già curatore del Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago (MCA), per presentare la sua personale a ZONAMACO 2020 nella sezione New Proposals, nello stesso anno presenta la sua prima personale assoluta da Boccanera Gallery.

Boccanera Gallery Trento is pleased to present Dreams never end, the first solo show of the young Romanian painter Cristian Avram (Alba-Iulia - RO, 1994).

The exhibition is divided into two parts and will narrate the different areas of the research conducted by the artist. The preview, was opened on 29th January at Boccanera Gallery Milano, has presented the works that focus on the figuration of industrial and living spaces, recalling the typical environments of the Lambrate neighbourhood that once used to be one of the most important manufacturing districts of Milan.

The exhibition opening on Friday 9 October at Boccanera Gallery Trento, will be dedicated on a broader extent to works that portray the human dimension and landscape, in which the artist analyses a new romantic and introspective vision of figuration.

Cristian Avram's works are closely related to a classical approach of painting. The artist draws from his experiences that have walked in his mind, and through the colour, he creates dimensions that live between an unfinished past and a future to be discovered.

Avram grew up in the countryside near Alba-Iulia, in the middle of Transylvania, and in those places he observed a world of contrasts between rural life and the post-Soviet imagery. Through his studies at the prestigious Academy of Painting in Cluj Napoca, in the art capital of Eastern Europe, he was able to interpret his vision of contemporary painting, broadening the narrative of human experience that is painted through a formula of analysis.

His representation of reality investigates the possibilities that colour offers in the construction of the personal and collective imaginary. For Avram, the canvas is a place of relationships: between colour, shapes, and everyday life. And it is in this relationship that colour dominates powerfully. The complex dialogue between tones and lights take on meaning in an overall organic relation.

Cristian Avram explores the collision between the inner and outer world, an oxymoron that raises a sense of immemorial undated time that hides places of the soul. He wants to probe the possible alterations of the environment: tangible and immaterial, private and social.

Cristian Avram was born in Alba-Iulia in Romania in 1994. In 2019 he graduated in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cluj-Napoca, and in 2018 he participated in the group exhibition Talking about my generation at the Plan B Gallery in Cluj-Napoca (RO). In 2020 he was selected by José Esparza Chong Cuy, former curator of the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago (MCA), to present his solo show at ZONAMACO 2020 in the New Proposals section, in the same year he opened his first solo show at Boccanera Gallery.
