Empire Dissolves Into Its Subjects
Clubmikshys* says - “Hey! Stop shooting!” while he stops shooting back himself. Bad guy vanishes by turning good? The fact believes no one. Clubmikshys repeatedly gets shot until he proves that he is what he says - a piece of a peace.
It is Halo - a first-person shooter online and DM, who’s trying to dominate other players by proposing a completely different idea than the one that was programmed by the game designer.
Selflessness - whether it is an alter ego or a discreet therapy, transforms its host into a somewhat imperial hegemon. Whoever he is - Jesus Christ, The United States of America or just an ordinary artist, the whole world becomes an extension for him.
A Piece of a Peace, 2006, is an online game performance in which DM attempts to raise his leadership by offering players to do a group photo session.
The Extension, 2018, is a ready made and mass produced wooden sculpture that was used as a blank page to produce a new work.
* Clubmikshys - Darius Mikšys nickname created by Raimundas Malašauskas in 2000.
