Questo progetto è stato concepito da David Adamo e realizzato insieme agli studenti di scultura di Adamo che studiano alla SRISA e che hanno lavorato con lui per creare un'opera di David Adamo che è allo stesso tempo David e non David. In un esperimento creativo collaborativo, Adamo esplora il suo lavoro mentre si espande nell'insegnamento e questo lavoro è informato da entrambi, permettendo agli studenti di creare il suo lavoro, che è allo stesso tempo il suo lavoro e anche il loro.
"Abbiamo iniziato il processo di realizzazione della mostra con un brainstorming di idee per sculture impossibili. Questo esercizio è stato utilizzato per espandere l’idea di ciò che la nostra immaginazione è in grado di fare, che molto spesso è impossibilmente diverso da ciò che è plausibile nella realtà. Interessati da questa dicotomia, abbiamo iniziato a pensare a sculture fondate sulla nostra nuova realtà fiorentina. La pletora di arte storica e di scienza che riempie i musei, unita ad altre realtà più inquietanti e belle del vivere in una città che invecchia; le zaffate delle antiche tubature, la muffa strisciante negli angoli domestici, i funghi che crescono su una varietà di superfici, il muschio che entra dalle fessure, le zanzare che ronzano nelle nostre orecchie e le cacche di cane che si alzano come grandiose cattedrali dai marciapiedi. La mostra mescola questi ingredienti: forme classiche, crescita naturale e scultura immaginaria, ponendo domande su cosa è reale e cosa no? Cosa è impossibile e cosa è plausibile?".

This project was conceived by David Adamo and created alongside Adamo’s Sculpture students studying at SRISA who worked with him to create a David Adamo work that is both David and also not David. In a collaborative creative experiment, he explores his work as it expands into teaching and this work is informed by both, allowing students to create his work, which is at the same time his work and also theirs.
“We started the process for the show by brainstorming ideas for impossible sculptures. The exercise was used as a tool to expand our idea about what the imagination is capable of, which is often impossibly different from what is realistically possible. Interested in this dichotomy, we began to think about sculptures grounded in our new Florentine reality. The plethora of historical art and science that fills the museums, coupled with other more disturbingly beautiful realities of living in an aging city; wafts from ancient plumping, creeping mold in domestic corners, mushrooms growing on a variety of surfaces, moss coming through cracks, mosquitoes buzzing in our ears, and dog poop rising up like grandiose cathedrals from sidewalks. The show mixes these ingredients; classical forms, natural growth and imagined sculpture, posing questions about what’s real and what’s not? What’s impossible and what’s plausible?”
