Ding Yi – Sul segno degli artisti # 11
Dodici artisti presentati, nell’arco di un anno, con 12 lavori ciascuno e raccolti in un catalogo annuale. Lo zodiaco costituirà ciclicamente per 12 anni l’imprevedibile percorso di una lunga mostra sul segno astrale di 144 artisti prescelti, per un ammontare cabalistico di 1728 opere da esporre.

Dodici artisti da presentare nell'arco di un anno con 12 lavori ciascuno. Alla fine dell'anno sarà pubblicato un catalogo edito dalla Salarchi Immagini, nel segno degli (astri) artisti prescelti, contenente 144 opere: esso costituirà per dodici anni il corpo ideale di una sinestesia simbolica da deporre nella collana editoriale "Sul segno degli artisti" in dodici volumi, per un ammontare cabalistico di 1728 opere d'arte esposte, prodotte da 144 artisti.
Sabato 28 gennaio alle ore 19, presso la Galleria degli Archi di Comiso, ci sarà l’undicesimo appuntamento con “Sul segno degli artisti”: saranno esposte dodici opere su carta di uno dei protagonisti dell'arte cinese contemporanea, Ding Yi, nato a Shanghai, noto a livello internazionale grazie alla coerenza e alla qualità dei suoi lavori, che sono stati esposti in 17 mostre personali (da Shanghai a Beijing, a Berlino, Lucerna, Birmingham, Parigi, Bologna, Koeln...) e circa 130 mostre collettive in tutto il mondo (Oxford, Brisbane, Venezia, Goeteborg, Chicago, Vancouver, Barcellona, San Pietroburgo, Yokohama, Vienna, Parigi, Dublino, Milano, Taipei, Amburgo, Groninigen, Bruxelles, Hong Kong, San Francisco...). Su Ding Yi hanno scritto personalità dell'arte contemporanea quali Hans Ulrich Obrist, Hou Hanru, Achille Bonito Oliva, Gianfranco Maraniello, Fei Dawei, Gao Minglu...
Nel settembre 1995 la critica d'arte Monica Dematté, una delle maggiori esperte internazionali di arte cinese contemporanea, curò una mostra di opere su carta di Ding Yi, allora poco conosciuto seppur già reduce da una Biennale di Venezia (1993), presso la Galleria degli Archi. Il suo pezzo: "Semplicità, complessità, sintesi - L'evoluzione pittorica di Ding Yi", pubblicato sulla più importante rivista cinese di arte contemporanea di allora, Jiangsu Pictorial, contribuì a far conoscere la poetica dell'artista nel suo paese. I lavori su carta creati apposta per la mostra di Comiso suscitarono l'interesse locale e vennero esposti in seguito in altre località italiane. La positiva esperienza del pittore in Sicilia nel 1995, resa possibile dall'apertura e lungimiranza del gallerista Salvatore Schembari, anch'egli all'epoca agli inizi di un lungo e ricco percorso artistico e culturale, ha convinto l'artista (recentissimo protagonista di un'importante ed estesa retrospettiva presso il Mingshen Art Museum a Shanghai, sua città natale) a ripresentarsi in Sicilia proponendo dodici opere presso la Galleria degli Archi di Comiso. Si tratta dunque della terza mostra personale di Ding Yi in Italia, dopo quella appena menzionata risalente al lontano 1995 e un'importante apparizione presso il Mambo di Bologna (2008), e di una rara possibilità per il pubblico italiano di vedere le opere dell'affermato artista cinese.
Sia Ding Yi che la curatrice Monica Dematté saranno presenti all'inaugurazione.
