'BALADE URBAINE'
DUCCIO MARIA GAMBI
The work of Duccio Maria Gambi is heterogeneous as heterogeneous is the wide path he explored before opening his studio and workshop in Paris in 2012.
Duccio Maria Gambi presents a collection of furnishing accessories and experiments in materials deriving from his research in the urban sphere.
The result is a collection which examines the relationship between the material and colours, as a non-characteristic but descriptive element of the object.
The first of the series is a console in cement wood and rubber the original textures which, added later, are described, shown and compared with a colouring sprayed on top of a background colour. The colour masks the shape and volume and concentrates the attention on the material characteristics of the object.
During this Resident/Guest Plusdesign, given the affinity with the editorial line of the gallery, the Camo Concrete table is included in the collection of items edited by the Gallery. In Camo the designer reveals an innovative technique for processing cast cement. The graphic result which comes from it expresses the military theme of camouflage in shades of grey.
