L’ottavo evento proposto dalla Fondazione Rolla è una mostra personale dedicata al fotografo Edward Weston (1886, Illinois - 1958, California).

Attraverso 22 fotografie appartenenti alla loro collezione, Philip e Rosella Rolla propongono un breve viaggio attraverso lo “sguardo Westoniano”.

Come scrive Pino Musi nel testo in catalogo:
Esiste nello sguardo dell’autore americano una rallentata e reiterata attenzione al soggetto, l’assunzione di una postura analitica che, attraverso spostamenti minimi di luce, di inquadratura, di distanza, scandaglia la “quintessenza della cosa stessa” mirando diritto al cuore della forma, senza distrazioni collaterali.

Opere in mostra:
20 immagini scattate tra il 1916 e il 1944 e stampate dall’autore (vintage palladium, platinum e gelatin silver prints). Un’immagine scattata nel 1920 e stampata dal figlio Cole Weston. Un ritratto di Edward Weston realizzato da Ansel Adams negli anni ‘50.

Due to the coincidence of a Wedding celebrated at the Town Hall in Bruzella, Saturday, May 10 will not be possible to inaugurate the exhibition at 11 am, as the roads will be closed and parking not available. We apologize for the inconvenience and we look forward to see you at 5 pm.

The eighth event proposed by the Rolla Foundation is an exhibition dedicated to the American photographer Edward Weston (1886, Illinois - 1958 California).

Through 22 photographs from their collection, Philip and Rosella Rolla propose a short journey through the “Westonian vision”.

As Pino Musi writes in the catalog text:
There is in the eyes of the American photographer, a slowed down and repeated attention to the subject, taking an analytical posture that through small displacements of light, framing, distance, searches out the “quintessence of the thing itself”, aiming right at the heart of the form without side distractions.

Works in the exhibition:
20 images taken between 1916 and 1944 and printed by the photographer (vintage palladium, platinum and gelatin silver prints). A picture from 1920 printed by his son Cole Weston. A portrait of Edward Weston made by Ansel Adams in the 50s.
