Wednesday 5 June from 18.30 Ncontemporary hosts the opening of two new solo shows in Milan. For both artists involved, this will be their first solo show in the city.

Elena Ceretti Stein (b.1989, Italy) is an Italian multidisciplinary artist. In her practice, Ceretti Stein investigates the relationship between the seen and the unseen, the deep thread that connects scientific and magical thinking. Borrowing from classical artistic tradition, she is rethinking the way in which visual culture embeds secrets, information, and narratives; revealing ideas through ancient methodologies and exposing that mysticism is universal.

In Offspring the artist presents a selection of new paintings and a site specific installation.

Hossein QB (b. Iran) is a young sculptor currently based in Milan. Hossein QB's work, delicate and meticulous, is highly inspired by Persian medieval miniatures, an extremely formalistic craftwork, focused in the perfectionism of the technique. In ancient times before monotheism emerged, the way of perceiving the world was very different, the gods were part of every aspect of life and of everything that surrounded us. Hossein QB in his works looks for the sacred in the absence of the metaphysical, getting rid of the hypothetical to arrive at the concrete.

In Un genealogia the artist presents three new sculptures, in the form of bonsais, in which both the highly skilled technique and the conceptual symbolistic research are evident.
