The word penetralia typically refers to the most private and embedded architectures of a building or temple. Ellie Rae Hunter and Anni Puolakka's dialogic show, Penetralia II, explores metaphorical and corporeal penetralia. The work builds upon a collaborative project that began in 2018 exploring entanglements, boundaries, and transformative relations between beings and materials. The upcoming exhibition at Almanac, curated by Zoë De Luca Legge, will further develop the artists' research into the porosity of architectures and bodies through a series paintings, sculptures and videos created by the artists individually, and a collaborative spatial intervention.
