Fresh Flâneurs

I sei artisti invitati si sono confrontati sia con gli spazi della galleria che con alcuni luoghi della città. Il frutto di questo lavoro non è solo una mostra tradizionale, ma un fitto programma di residenze prodotte dalla galleria da maggio a giugno.

Il 25 giugno alle ore 19 la galleria Doppelgaenger – Bari, con il patrocinio del Comune di Bari, presenta la retrospettiva Fresh Flâneurs dedicata alle recenti evoluzioni della street art, con 108, El Tono, Hell'O'Monster, Ozmo, SAM III e Sten&Lex; i sei artisti invitati si sono confrontati sia con gli spazi della galleria che con alcuni luoghi della città. Il frutto di questo lavoro non è solo una mostra tradizionale, ma un fitto programma di residenze prodotte dalla galleria da maggio a giugno.
La street art è un fenomeno artistico contemporaneo che, nel corso dell'ultimo decennio, ha saputo imporsi all'attenzione delle istituzioni museali, delle università, dell'editoria e del mercato dell'arte.
In questo panorama Doppelgaenger ha voluto affiancare all'esposizione in galleria un progetto di arte urbana insieme al Comune di Bari, invitando artisti nazionali ed internazionali a riqualificare con le proprie opere alcune aree della città.
Questo appuntamento è un primo passo che con il tempo consentirà a Bari di vantare un parco di opere murali a cielo aperto, dal forte impatto sociale e turistico.
Uno dei tratti più rappresentativi di Fresh Flâneurs è la varietà della sua offerta artistica: la mostra ha l’obiettivo di portare a Bari una testimonianza significativa ed eterogenea degli stili e delle tecniche che hanno caratterizzato l’arte urbana nell’ultimo decennio.

Tutti vantano mostre personali e collettive in gallerie internazionali, nonché la partecipazione ai festival di street art più noti al mondo. Per tutti loro è la prima volta a Bari.
Il 9 luglio si terrà una tavola rotonda sulla street art con la partecipazione di: Claudia Attimonelli, sociosemiologa, docente all’ Università di Bari e al Polimoda di Firenze; Pietro Marino, critico d’arte; Christian Omodeo, ricercatore indipendente e cofondatore de Le Grand Jeu; Vittorio Parisi, dottorando all'Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, storico e critico d’arte galleria Doppelgaenger; Vincenzo V. Susca, professore di Sociologia dell'immaginario all'Università Paul-Valéry di Montpellier e cofondatore con con M. Dandrieux della rivista Les Cahiers européens de l’Imaginaire.

On 25 June, at 7.00 p.m. the art gallery of Bari Doppelgaenger presents the Fresh flâneurs retrospective dedicated to the recent street art’s evolution with 108, El Tono, Hell'O'Monster, Ozmo, SAM III and Sten &Lex; the six invited artists compared oneself both to the gallery’s spaces and some places of the city. The result of this work is not only a traditional exhibition, but also a dense program of mini-residencies produced by the gallery between May and June.
Street art is a contemporary artistic phenomenon which, over the last decade, has been able to assert oneself to attention of the museum institutions, universities , publishing and art market.
Within this scenario, Doppelgaenger has chosen to combine the exhibition in gallery with a project of urban art togheter with the support of the Commune of Bari inviting national and international artists in order to redevelop with their own works certain areas of the city which, at the moment, are in a state of degradation. This appointment is a first passage that, over the time will allow Bari to be proud of an open pit mural works’ park having an assured social and touristic impact.
One of the most representative trait of fresh Flaneurs is the variety of its artistic offering: directed by Vittorio Parisi - art critic and gallery editor, as well as, town counsellor for urban art of Bari - the exhibition’s aim is to bear in Bari an important and heterogeneous witness of the styles, techniques and genres that have characterised the urban art of the last decade. The retrospective will see operate in some specific areas of the city the Italian artists Sten & Lex (http://stenlex.net/), Ozmo (http://www.ozmo.it/) and 108 (http://www.108nero.com/), the Spanish SAM III (http://www.sam3.es/), the French El Tono (http://www.eltono.com/), the Belgian trio Hell'O'Monsters (http://www.thehellomonsters.com/).

All of them can boast solo and group exhibitions in international galleries, as well as, participation in the most famous street art festivals in the world. For each of them is the first time in Bari. The residencies will culminate in the opening of the exhibition on Tuesday, June 25, 6.30 p.m.
On July 9, there will be a workshop about street art with the collaboration of: Claudia Attimonelli, Socio-semiologist, professor at the Universituy of Bari and Polimoda of Firenze; Pietro Marino, art critic; Christian Omodeo, researcher and co-founder of Le Grand Jeu; Vittorio Parisi, dottorando all'Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, historian and art critic Doppelgaenger gallery; Vincenzo V. Susca, sociology of immagination professor at the University Paul-Valéry of Montpellier and co-founder with M. Dandrieux of the Magazine Les Cahiers européens de l’Imaginaire
