FUTURA_Research NOISELESS

FUTURA_Research explores the relationships between sound, space and design.

In FUTURA_Research’s project, the transducer is not merely a speaker; all of its discrete components work in synergy with the object’s overall form to produce a mechanical element that is capable of transforming and amplifying electrical impulses into sound waves. As such, the design of FUTURA_Research’s speakers directly derives from the physical characteristics that are necessary to generate a specific listening performance.

FUTURA Noiseless is a site-specific diffusion system designed for the settantaventidue space. It is designed and built to amplify mid and low frequencies with a speed and impact that blurs the line in human sensitivity between distinguishing real sound impulses from reproduced ones.

For the lauch of the FUTURA Noiseless system at settantaventidue, artists Andrew Pekler, Attila Faravelli, Benjamin Nelson, Carlos Casas, Dafne Vicente-Sandoval, Fabio Perletta, Jack Sheen, Nicola Ratti, Paolo Nicolò Ferraguti - VGU39, Thomas Ankersmit and Valerio Tricoli have realised one specific previuosly unreleased music track. These tracks will be diffused on Wednesday the 31st of January 2024 19:00 to 22:00 in a series of one hour loops.

FUTURA_Research is a project by Giorgio de Vecchi curated in collaboration with Giulia di Lenarda.
