Laurent Montaron was born in 1972, lives and works in Paris. He is represented by the gallery schleicher lange in Berlin, Germany. He is currently granted of a fellowship at the French Academy in Rome, Villa Medici. He studied at the Ecole Supérieure d'Art et de Design in Reims and at the Ecole Regionale des Beaux Arts in Nantes. His work has been exhibited internationally in group exhibitions such as Performa 11, New York, United States (2011), Une Terrible Beauté Est Née, 11e Biennale de Lyon, Lyon, France, (2011), Goetz Open End, Sammlung Goetz Collection, Haus der Kunst, Munich, Germany (2012), and solo shows such as Pace, at the Kunsthaus Baselland, Basel, Switzerland (2010), IAC - Institut d’art Contemporain, Villeurbanne – Lyon, France (2009) which gave rise to a publication in 2010. His work is present in numerous public and private collections including : le Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris in Paris, le Fond National d'Art Contemporain in Paris, Collection Lemaître, London and Paris, Collection Louis Vuitton, Paris, Goetz Collection Munich. In 2013, Laurent Montaron will take part of the exhibition Il Palazzo Enciclopedico in the Central Pavilion at the 55th International Art Exhibition of La biennale di Venezia, Venice, Italy.
