The Blank Residency è lieta di annunciare l'Open Studio dedicato all’opera dell’artista Maёlle Cornut, venerdì 20 aprile alle h.17.30, presso GIACOMO, Via G. Quarenghi, 33. The Blank Residency is pleased to announce the Open Studio dedicated to the work of the artist Maёlle Cornut, on Friday 20th April at h. 5.30 pm at GIACOMO, Via G. Quarenghi, 33.
L’Open Studio sarà dedicato alla presentazione del progetto di ricerca svolto da Maёlle Cornut durante il periodo di residenza “ATTRAVERSAMENTI”, un progetto nell’ambito di «Viavai+», iniziativa promossa dai cantoni Ticino e Vallese e della Regione Lombardia in collaborazione con la Fondazione svizzera per la cultura Pro Helvetia. Il programma di scambio di residenze favorisce la mobilità di artisti ticinesi, vallesani e lombardi operanti nel campo delle arti visive. The Open Studio will be dedicated to the presentation of the research project carried out by Maёlle Cornut during the period of residence "ATTRAVERSAMENTI”, a project in the context of "Viavai+", an initiative promoted by the cantons of Ticino and Valais and the Lombardy Region in collaboration with the Swiss Foundation for Culture Pro Helvetia. The residencies exchange program promotes the mobility of artists from Ticino, Valaisan and Lombardia working in the field of visual arts.
L’Open Studio è organizzato come momento pubblico di condivisione del progetto e della ricerca condotta dall’artista svizzera Maёlle Cornut durante la residenza presso The Blank dal 1° marzo al 31 aprile. Un momento per avvicinarsi all’arte contemporanea e l’occasione per manifestare le proposte e le idee maturate dall’artista durante il suo soggiorno nella città di Bergamo che ha permesso gli sviluppi sullo studio del Bosco Verticale di Milano. The Open Studio is organized as a public moment to share the project and research conducted by the Swiss artist Maёlle Cornut during her residency at the Blank from 1 March to 31 April. It will be a moment to approach contemporary art and an opportunity to express the proposals and ideas gained by the artist during her stay in the city of Bergamo that allowed her to develop a study of the Bosco Verticale of Milan.
Maëlle Cornut, classe 1986, è artista svizzera e allieva del CCC Research Master della Geneva School of Art and Design (HEAD). Maëlle Cornut (1986) is a Swiss artist and student of the CCC Research Master of Geneva School of Art and Design (HEAD).
Le sue opere sono state esposte in Svizzera, Italia, Grecia, Bulgaria, Romania e Lituania. Il suo lavoro si concentra sui concetti relativi a studi di genere, sociologia, biologia e botanica e si ispira anche agli universi mutuati dalla fantascienza per ricreare nuove narrazioni e ampliare la gamma di possibilità. Her works have been exhibited in Switzerland, Italy, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania and Lithuania. Her research focuses on concepts related to gender studies, sociology, biology and botany. It is also inspired by universes borrowed from science fiction in order to recreate new narratives and broaden the range of possibilities.
