Zuecca Projects is pleased to support the Ministry of Nomads Art Foundation announcing the exhibition CHRONOS, a solo presentation featuring the work of Maria Kreyn.

Organized by Maria Vega and MON Art Foundation, the exhibition includes ten monumental new oil paintings at St. George's Anglican Church, in Venice, from April 15th to June 22nd, 2024, during the 60th edition of La Biennale di Venezia.

The opening reception of the show, with a special-guests conversation, will be on April 19th from 5 pm to 9 pm.

CHRONOS welcomes viewers into an immersive meditation on the materiality of time, the turbulent flow of weather, and our essential, fragile human connection with the atmosphere. Maria Kreyn's landscapes present luminous vortexes in which flat planes of prismatic geometry intersect painterly, atmospheric space. Invoking the Orphic mythology of the cosmic egg, the haptic energy of Kreyn's paintings highlights the natural cycle of creation, dissolution, and regeneration. Bound between abstraction and representation, chaos and calculation, the storm paintings capture a sense of collective anxiety in the face of extreme weather and climate change - a dazzling vision of a terrifying threat.
