LdM Gallery is pleased to announce Fashion Street, an exhibition by the renowned Tuscany-based street photographer Massimiliano Faralli. Faralli will present photographs from his series dedicated to Milano Fashion Week, the result of which was also the recently published book Fashion Week / Fashion Trip for CitiesBooks.
The first fascination of photography was its ability to capture the moment, to represent the reality around it. Faralli with his understanding of street photography still aspires to capture the decisive moment, the significant moment, although he does not document the reality but shows it from his very personal point of view.
“For me, street photography is when the street becomes a stage, and we photographers, attracted by the energy of the context, let ourselves be captured by the flow of that moment until we become an integral part. Empathy and emotion guide much of my work. “says Faralli.
These are the guidelines of Massimiliano’s approach to the street, which he always treats with profound respect. The photographer feels comfortable amidst his subjects, and it is that comfort that makes his style unique and recognizable. Energy, different perspectives, bright colors accentuated by the use of flash, and masterly use of light and shadows are his artistic signature. His work is mostly about connection, participation, and relation with the people he is photographing and taking on new challenges.
That is why his exhibition is preceded by a workshop for the LdM photography students that will be led through the streets of Florence in a quest for particular and unique moments to photograph. The photos taken will be selected by the artist, the gallery curator Špela Zidar, and LdM photography department supervisor Gianluca Maver and presented during the Fashion Street exhibition. Therefore, the exhibition's final project will include the works of Massimiliano Faralli and the selected works of students who participated in the workshop.
“Speaking about or taking photography produces positive emotions of energy and serenity in me, the important result, what I seek, is to be able to transmit these same sensations to others, with my work, my activity.” That is how Faralli describes his intentions.
LdM Gallery is glad to be able to offer this opportunity not only to the viewers but also to the LdM students, creating new connections between them, the artist, and the street.
Massimiliano Faralli was born and raised in Prato. Professional photographer for many years working in the wedding and architecture sector. Since 2017, attracted by new techniques, he finds in "street photography" the ideal tool for his personal growth. He likes to photograph in open contexts, popular events, and demonstrations, where he looks for creative ideas and stories of ordinary people to tell. His works have received many awards and honorable mentions in Italy and abroad have been published in national and international magazines and on various art and photography sites, and exhibited in collective and personal exhibitions in many cities and the main photography festival in Europe and around the world.
As a lecturer, he holds numerous workshops and presentations throughout Italy, particularly regarding "street photography." He has won important international competitions, among the main ones in 2022: The Overall Winner Urban at Trieste Photo Days, the Miami Street Photography Festival, and the Fujifilm Moment Street Photo Awards.
He recently published the photography book Fashion Week / Fashion Trip for CitiesBooks.

LdM Gallery è lieta di annunciare Fashion Street , una mostra del affermato fotografo di strada toscano Massimiliano Faralli. Faralli presenterà le fotografie della sua serie dedicata alla Milano Fashion Week, il cui risultato è stato recentemente pubblicato anche nel libro Fashion Week / Fashion Trip per CitiesBooks.
Il primo fascino della fotografia era la sua capacità di catturare l'attimo, di rappresentare la realtà attorno a noi. Faralli con la sua comprensione della street photography aspira ancora a catturare il momento decisivo, il momento significativo, sebbene non documenti la realtà ma la mostri dal suo personalissimo punto di vista.
“Per me la street photography è quando la strada diventa palcoscenico, e noi fotografi, attratti dall'energia del contesto, ci lasciamo catturare dal flusso di quel momento fino a diventarne parte integrante. Empatia ed emozione guidano gran parte del mio lavoro. “ dice Faralli.
Queste le linee guida dell'approccio di Massimiliano Faralli alla strada che tratta sempre con profondo rispetto. Il fotografo si sente a suo agio in mezzo ai suoi soggetti ed è questo che rende il suo stile unico e riconoscibile. Energia, costruzione prospettica, colori accesi accentuati dall'uso del flash e un uso magistrale di luci e ombre sono la sua firma artistica. Principalmente, però, il suo lavoro riguarda la connessione, la partecipazione e la relazione con l'evento che sta fotografando, oltre che la ricerca di nuove sfide.
Per questo la sua mostra sarà preceduta da un workshop per gli studenti di fotografia LdM che saranno condotti per le strade di Firenze alla ricerca di momenti particolari e unici da fotografare. Le loro fotografie saranno selezionate dall'artista, dalla curatrice della galleria Špela Zidar e dal supervisore del dipartimento di fotografia di LdM Gianluca Maver, e presentate durante la mostra Fashion Street. Il progetto finale della mostra comprenderà quindi sia i lavori di Massimiliano Faralli, sia i lavori selezionati, fatti dagli studenti che hanno partecipato al workshop.
“Parlare di o scattare fotografie produce in me emozioni positive di energia e serenità, il risultato importante, quello che cerco, è riuscire a trasmettere queste stesse sensazioni agli altri, con il mio lavoro, la mia attività.” descrive Faralli le sue intenzioni.
LdM Gallery è lieta di poter dare questa opportunità non solo agli spettatori della mostra ma anche agli studenti LdM creando nuove connessioni tra gli studenti, l'artista e la strada.
Massimiliano Faralli è nato e cresciuto a Prato. Fotografo professionista per molti anni nel settore wedding e architettura, dal 2017, attratto da nuove tecniche, trova nella “street photography” lo strumento ideale per la sua crescita personale. Gli piace fotografare in contesti aperti, eventi popolari, manifestazioni, dove cerca spunti creativi e storie di gente comune da raccontare.
I suoi lavori hanno avuto molti riconoscimenti, menzioni d’onore in Italia e all’estero, sono stati pubblicati in riviste nazionali e internazionali e su vari siti di arte e fotografia, esposti in mostre collettive e personali in molte città e nei principali festival di fotografia in Europa e nel mondo.
Come relatore è molto richiesto per workshop e presentazioni, in particolare per quanto riguarda “street photography”, che svolge in tutta l’Italia.
Ha vinto importanti concorsi internazionali, tra i principali nel 2022 l’Overall Winner
Urban al Trieste Photo Days, il Miami Street Photography Festival, il Fujifi lm Moment Street Photo Awards.
Recentemente ha pubblicato il libro fotografico Fashion Week / Fashion Trip per CitiesBooks.
