Wunderkammern è lieta di presentare Symphony of Systematic Minimalism, mostra personale dell’artista Remi Rough.
Remi Rough (Londra, 1971) è uno dei maggiori esponenti della corrente astratta dell’arte urbana. Proveniente dalla scena dell’arte britannica degli anni ‘80, ha sviluppato la sua ricerca sia nello spazio della galleria che attraverso interventi pubblici. L’artista combina il purismo dei movimenti d’avanguardia, come il Suprematismo, con un’energia espressionista completamente moderna per creare potenti composizioni astratte. Le sue linee sintetiche ma allo stesso tempo dinamiche e le sue forme geometriche colorate nette, sia su pareti che su tele, acquisiscono una dimensione scultorea. Remi Rough ha esposto in importanti istituzioni ed eventi internazionali come la Biennale di Street Art di Mosca, il Museé Mohammed VI a Rabat, la MB6 Biennale di Marrakech, la Urban Art Biennale presso il Völklinger Museum, il Museo di Belle Arti di Santander e la Maison De L’Architecture a Strasburgo.
Symphony of Systematic Minimalism, la prima mostra personale di Remi Rough in Italia, esplora i rapporti tra le arti visive e la musica. Con un’esperienza nella produzione musicale di oltre vent’anni, l’espressione artistica e musicale di Remi sono sempre state intrinsecamente legate. Come nel linguaggio astratto della musica, nella pittura di Remi gli elementi visivi diventano un sistema cromatico di forme pure. Nelle sue opere colori, linee e forme sono modulati come "accordi" visivi in una composizione musicale, che risultano in una struttura dinamica e precisa, dove nulla è arbitrario e tutto è al posto giusto. Ogni opera, insieme alla composizione musicale creata appositamente per essa, acquisisce una dimensione temporale, si evolve nel tempo e diventa un'esperienza.
Per la sua mostra a Wunderkammern, Remi Rough presenterà nuovi lavori su tela di grandi dimensioni, insieme alla musica scritta e prodotta dall'artista. Inoltre saranno esposti disegni su carta ed un’installazione site-specific in galleria. In occasione dell'opening sarà presentato il libro #RoughSketches Volume 01, insieme ad un’edizione speciale limitata creata da Sandra Varisco. L'artista sarà presente all'inaugurazione.

Wunderkammern Rome presents Symphony of Systematic Minimalism, solo show by Remi Rough.
Remi Rough (London, 1971) is one of the greatest exponents of the abstract current of urban art. Coming from the UK art scene of the 80s, he has pursued his research both in the gallery space and through public interventions. The artist combines the purism of avant-garde movements such as Suprematism, with a totally modern expressionistic energy to create powerful abstract compositions. His synthetic yet dynamic lines and neat geometric colour forms, whether on walls or on canvas, acquire a sculptural dimension. Remi Rough has exhibited in important international institutions and events such as the Biennale of Street Art in Moscow, the Museé Mohammed VI in Rabat, the MB6 Marrakech Biennale, the Urban Art Biennale at the Völklinger Museum, the Museum of Fine Art of Santander and the Maison De L’Architecture in Strasbourg.
Symphony of Systematic Minimalism, Remi Rough’s first solo exhibition in Italy, explores the relationship between visual art and music. With an experience in music production of over 20 years, Remi’s artistic and musical expression have always been intrinsically linked. As music’s abstract language, in Remi’s paintings the visual elements become a chromatic system of pure forms. In his works colours, lines and shapes are modulated as visual “chords” in a musical composition, resulting in a dynamic and precise structure, where nothing is arbitrary and everything is in the right place. Each painting, along with the musical composition created especially for it, acquires a temporal dimension, evolves in time and becomes an experience.
For his show at Wunderkammern, Remi Rough will present large scale works on canvas together with music written and produced by the artist. He will present as well artworks on paper and a site-specific installation in the gallery. On the occasion of the opening the book #RoughSketches Volume 01 will be presented, together with a limited special edition created by Sandra Varisco. The artist will be present at the opening.

The event is part of the celebrations for the 90th anniversary of the Torpignattara district
