Sala d'Aspetto
Il progetto coinvolge artisti contemporanei che sono invitati ciclicamente a esporre i loro lavori nella sala d’aspetto di uno studio medico in via Bellini 1 a Milano. Lo studio svolge la regolare attività secondo gli orari prestabiliti e solo in un’occasione fuori ambulatorio si apre al pubblico di appassionati del settore artistico: l’invito si presenta come una ricetta medica ogni volta scritta e adattata dagli artisti. Le opere esposte rimangono in seguito fruibili dai pazienti dello studio fino all’inaugurazione della mostra successiva.

Ogni appuntamento mette in relazione le ricerche di due artisti che si confrontano sul tema dell’esperienza della sala d’aspetto, sulle situazioni e le sensazione che questa realtà può suscitare.

Chi non si è mai trovato nella sala d’attesa di uno studio medico? All’interno della routine, della vita frenetica di tutti i giorni, la sala d’aspetto ci costringe a fermarci e a condividere con altre persone un momento e un luogo. Distrazione, osservazione dell’altro, diffidenza ma anche scambio e confronto; diversi sono gli atteggiamenti che assumiamo in questa situazione e molte altre le sensazioni e i sentimenti che emergono: dall’imbarazzo, alla noia, alla distrazione, fino alla preoccupazione e all’angoscia. La visita dal medico può essere per un banale raffreddore ma anche per motivi più gravi che talvolta colgono impreparati. Il tempo sospeso dell’attesa può diventare momento di riflessione, di intimità con se stessi e intesa con gli altri.

Ogni appuntamento espositivo di volta in volta mette in luce un particolare, un dettaglio, un pensiero, un concetto, un’emozione aprendo a una riflessione più ampia sulla realtà e sulla vita attraverso le ricerche degli artisti.

Il progetto sala d’aspetto è ideato e curato da Anna Musini e Elisa Penagini in collaborazione con Pino Pipoli.

Waiting Room
The project brings together comtemporary artists who are cyclically invited to exhibit their works in a medical studio’s waiting room in via Bellini 1 in Milan. The studio functions according to its regular working hours and opens to the public and to art lovers and professionists only for some extra-clinical occasions. The invitation presents itself as a medical prescription written and adapted each time by the artists. After the opening, the works remain in the location for the outpatients’ fruition until the new display of the next show.

Waiting Room is a series of appointments deployed during the year which intend to create a dialogue between contemporary art and moments of common and daily life. Each appointment puts in relation the artistic research of two artists who confront themselves on the subject of the experience within the waiting room, on the situations and the sensations that this reality can raise.

Who has never found himself in the waiting room of a medical studio? Within the routine of our hectic daily lives the waiting room forces us to stop and share a time and space with other people. Disctraction, observation of others, diffidence, but also exchange and confrontation- there are different attitudes that we take on in this situation and many are the sensations and feelings that emerge: from embarassment to boredom, from distraction all the way to preoccupation and anguish. Going to the doctor can be for a simple flu or for more serious reasons that can catch us unprepared. The suspended time of awaiting can become a moment of consideration, of intimacy with oneself and understanding with others.

Each exhibition highlights a certain detail, a thought, a concept, an emotion tied with the waiting room which can open a wider cause for reflection on reality and life through the artists’ reasearch.
