Edicola Radetzky annuncia la sua collaborazione con Contemporary Attitude presentando il solo show dell’artista Sanjeshka, dal titolo UNSUCCESSFUL - The Imperceptible Rise of Perversely Peaceful Jokers.

La mostra inaugurerà il 2.06.2020 con una performance dalle ore 11:00 alle ore 21:00.

L’intervento di Sanjeshka presso gli spazi di Edicola Radetzky prosegue la narrazione sociologica e ludica incentrata sulla figura e il ruolo del lavoratore contemporaneo, iniziata dall’artista a maggio 2019, con la produzione in dialogo con Contemporary Attitude del video e dell’omonima giacca The Fall of The Worker, The Rise of The Joker (TFOTWTROTJ).

Worker e joker sono i sinonimi che per Sanjeshka rappresentano e descrivono lo stato di intorpidimento del lavoratore contemporaneo. Epicentro di sovrastimoli dal mondo, ogni worker è indotto tanto alla resa e al burnout psicologico quanto ad un eccesso di positività e ricerca di successo che lo rende un joker/caricatura di se stesso.

La storica edicola liberty diventa il luogo ideale per simulare l’intimità ed indagare i limiti preposti dalla necessità di attenzioni ed isolamento di questa figura “spossata” e di scarso successo del contemporaneo.

Sanjeshka dialoga con l’architettura del piccolo spazio espositivo ed il suo essere punto centrale della memoria del paesaggio della città. Vi affida un ulteriore elemento decorativo ricorrente della metropoli: le tipiche tende verdi dei condomini di ringhiera milanesi, uno degli elementi autobiografici più ricorrenti nella documentazione del quotidiano svolta dall’artista attraverso la raccolta compulsiva di immagini.

Opening / live e online performance, 02.06.2020 dalle ore 11:00 alle ore 21:00
L’opening della mostra di Edicola Radetzky si trasforma in una performance della durata di dieci ore, dalle 11:00 alle 21:00 di martedi 2 giugno. Sanjeshka abiterà lo spazio espositivo come uno spazio domestico; ogni atto verrà intrapreso come rappresentazione della dilatazione del tempo quotidiano dell’artista e condiviso con il pubblico, con streaming e post continuativi su diverse piattaforme. Queste modalità consentiranno di raggiungere un’interazione costante con i visitatori dello spazio espositivo e utenti online durante l’intero arco di durata della performance.

Come negli ultimi lavori dell’artista, l’intervento live verrà sviluppato tramite diverse tecniche, tra cui gli ASMR**, che <>.*

Bio
Sanjeshka, nome d’arte di Sanja Pupovac (Zara, ex - Jugoslavija, 1983) è un’artista serba che vive e lavora a Milano. Laureata al Politecnico di Milano,università presso la quale attualmente insegna Arti e progetto, inizia la sua carriera nel campo del design, spostandosi progressivamente verso la pratica artistica.
Ispirata da un apparente paesaggio patologico di disordini sociali, Sanjeshka contestualizza il suo lavoro tra la vecchia Europa e le nuove tecnologie. I temi alla base del suo lavoro sono: l'intimità di Internet, la poesia e il linguaggio dei millennials, l'umorismo come specchio e sintetizzatore, l’eccesso di positività, l’arte alla morte dell’arte, la mise-en-scène, i cimiteri.

Contemporary Attitude
è una piattaforma di arte contemporanea che concentra la sua ricerca sul rapporto tra arte e moda. Da gennaio 2019 vede coinvolti numerosi artisti nell’ideazione e produzione di abiti e accessori, opere d’arte, sculture indossabili. La recente evoluzione del progetto prevede la creazione un archivio online dedicato ad oggetti scultorei e opere indossabili che categorizzano la ricerca artistica ed i suoi rapporti con la moda in una pratica da sempre intessuta nel linguaggio dell’arte.

Edicola Radetzky announces its collaboration with Contemporary Attitude presenting UNSUCCESSFUL - The Imperceptible Rise of Perversely Peaceful Jokers, a solo show by Sanjeshka. The exhibition will open on 2.06.2020 with a performance from 11 am to 9 pm.

A closed-off interior, seen from the outside. Typical curtains of the Milanese balconies, green or green + white striped curtains hide an interior that probably houses an unsuccessful individual. Sanjeshka interchanges the two words “Joker” and “Worker”, using either one or the other, as if to say the same thing.

A worker / joker, that has all the possibilities of contemporary society but chooses to confine himself to a small warm room. Is it depression or choice? The symptoms might look the same. These interiors are not associated with the fresh-new-hyper-society of achievement and self-exploitation, but with failure - with the unburdened and the hidden.
Who hangs green curtains in Milano?

Sanjeshka’s previous work and performance involves ASMR readings of books and notes, which further emphasize an environment that under-produces but generates thought.
Her work stems from contemporary philosophy and poetry, in particular from the work of Byung Chul Han.

The Opening / Live and Online Performance
June the 2nd, from 11 am to 9 pm

The opening of the exhibition at Edicola Radetzky on June the 2nd, turns into a ten-hour performance, from 11 am to 9 pm.

Sanjeshka will inhabit the exhibition space as a domestic space. She will perform intimate acts, each of them representing the expansion of the artist's daily practices.
A constant interaction with visitors of the exhibition and online users will be possible via a continuous internet live stream and posts to different social media networks during the entire duration of the performance.

Just like in the artist's latest works, the performance will contain various stages and layers, one of which is her interpretation of the technique of ASMR, that in the artist’s words <>

Bio
Sanjeshka (Sanja Pupovac) is a Serbian artist born in Zadar, ex - Jugoslavija in 1983. She lives and works in Milano. Picking up from what seems to be a pathological landscape of social disorders, Sanjeshka contextualizes her work between old europe and new technology. The themes that charge her work are: the intimacy of the internet, poetry and language of the millennials, humor as a mirror and synthesizer, excess of positivity, art after art, mise-en-scene, cemeteries. She studied at the Politecnico di Milano, where she now teaches. Her career begins in the design field and progressively crosses over to art.

Contemporary Attitude
is a contemporary art platform that focuses its research on the relationship between art and fashion. Since January 2019, numerous artists are involved in the design and production of clothes and accessories, artworks, wearable sculptures. Recent evolutions of the project include the creation of an online archive dedicated to sculptural objects and wearable artworks, leading to a categorization of the artistic research and its relationships with fashion into a practice always present in the artistic language.
