Ortica è un nuovo progetto di Serena Vestrucci concepito per lo spazio di Marsèlleria in via privata Rezia 2.
La mostra, a cura di Paola Tognon, si compone di tre nuovi lavori, autonomi ma intimamente correlati, che danno espressione alla parola come luogo immateriale.
Ortica inaugura il 22 giugno con una performance che, nel corso della mostra, sarà restituita come opera video.

Durante le fasi finali, A. è completamente dipendente. Il linguaggio è ridotto a semplici frasi, portando infine alla completa perdita della parola.
A. non riesce a portare a termine le azioni più semplici e quotidiane, in quanto non più capace di controllare funzioni come la memoria e il pensiero. Il ricorso alla cosiddetta comunicazione non verbale deve essere cercato e affinato.
Il fenomeno del perdersi, inteso come non trovare un percorso familiare è molto frequente. Diversi sono i fattori che possono intervenire: la diminuzione delle facoltà di ricordare, le difficoltà di orientamento nello spazio, l’ansia che spesso accompagna i suoi comportamenti.
Molto frequente in A. è la tendenza a ripetere a breve distanza di tempo frasi, domande, interiezioni. Il sintomo è legato principalmente all’amnesia che fa sì che dimentichi, nel volgere di pochi secondi, ciò appena detto. Accade così che la stessa frase venga ripetuta con frequenza estenuante.
Quello che colpisce in A. è l'incomunicabilità della parola, o meglio l'incapacità di formulare la cognizione del pensiero che porta alla parola. Lo scarto è minimo, ma procura un divario e un allontanamento massimo, totale.
Ortica è il ritratto del paradosso. L'eterno e il perenne contraddetto dal carattere effimero di A., dalla sua precaria esistenza, dal suo non esserci più.

Ortica is a new project by Serena Vestrucci, conceived for the space of Marsèlleria on via privata Rezia 2. The exhibition, curated by Paola Tognon, consists of three new works, autonomous but intimately correlated, that give expression to speech as an immaterial place. Ortica inaugurates on June 22nd with a performance, which during the course of the exhibition will be presented as a video piece.

During the final phases, A. is completely dependent. Language is reduced to simple phrases, leading eventually to the complete loss of speech.
A. cannot accomplish the simplest daily tasks, being unable to control functions such as memorising and thinking. The act of recurring to the so-called non-verbal communication needs to be investigated and refined.
Getting lost, intended as the phenomenon of losing track of a familiar itinerary, is very common. The factors intervening are diverse: a decline in the ability of remembering, some difficulties in spatial orientation, an anxiety that often accompanies its behaviours.
A certain tendency to repeat phrases, questions and interjections at short intervals is very frequent in A. The symptom is to be mainly related to the amnesia that causes the rapid forgetting of what has just been said. This is why the same phrase is repeated with wearying frequency.
What is striking about A. is the incommunicability of speech, or rather the inability to formulate the cognition behind speech. The difference is minimum, but it causes maximal, total discrepancy and estrangement.
Ortica is the portrait of paradox. The eternal and perennial negation of the ephemeral character of A., of its precarious existence, of its not being there anymore.
