Quest'anno la Fondazione Antonio Dalle Nogare ospiterà durante il festival Transart la performance musicale e la mostra NEG: Suonare le pause.
Il NEG (1970) è un'opera dell'artista concettuale Vincenzo Agnetti (Milano, 1926-1981), concepita come uno strumento per fare della "musica in negativo". In mancanza di un suono che lo attraversa, questa scultura "sonora" inizia a produrre una frequenza, dando rilevanza alle pause della musica o della parola. Si tratta di un'operazione concettuale, fortemente legata a una riflessione critica sulla società e sul consumo. Il NEG interroga i processi di alienazione prodotti dall'uso della macchina e della tecnologia. In questa seconda incarnazione del progetto, mdi ensemble utilizzerà il NEG in alcuni pezzi del programma che sarà interamente dedicato a John Cage. La mostra presenterà materiali d'archivio sulla storia del NEG e precedenti esperimenti musicali.
La mostra sarà visitabile gratuitamente presso la Fondazione Antonio Dalle Nogare dal 10 al 24 settembre 2022, nei suoi regolari orari di apertura.

EN. The Antonio Dalle Nogare Foundation will host during the festival Transart the music performance and exhibition NEG: Suonare le pause.
The NEG (1970) is a work by conceptual artist Vincenzo Agnetti (Milan, 1926-1981), conceived as an instrument to play 'music in negative'. In the absence of a sound running through it, this 'sound' sculpture begins to produce a frequency, giving relevance to the pauses in music or speech.
This is a conceptual operation, strongly linked to a critical reflection on society and consumption. The NEG interrogates the alienation processes produced by machine and technology uses.
The mdi ensemble will use the NEG in some pieces of the performance that will be entirely dedicated to John Cage. The exhibition will present archive materials of the NEG history and previous musical experiments.
The exhibition will be free and open to the public at the Antonio Dalle Nogare Foundation during its regular opening hours from September 10 to 24 2022.
